You don't even need to headcanon it, really. Even if you don't romance Casavir, he acts aggressive and jealous towards him and is straight-up obsessed with a female PC.

Spoiler

You're right. There's not a lot of nuance to that exchange. But there's no "love scene" like there is with Casavir. No talk on the battlements and then getting woken up with Bishop in your room at the Keep. Also, I'd totally forgotten about it! Heh, "When I shoot an arrow it doesn't miss."  I once played a CE rogue and got the line from Casavir before the final battle that went something like, "I can't wait for this to be over just so I don't have to be around you anymore." It was gold.

And then MotB rolls around and there's this gem:

Spoiler

Sorry for the random segue. NWN2 feels!

Okay, fine. *loads up NWN2* (I'm kidding, I don't even know if it works on my current rig, but now I'm itching to play it again.)

 Omfg. Now there's a goal for my next playthrough.

Yeah, I guess it's not really 'official' in the same way, but especially by MotB I don't think there could be any doubt about what was going on in his head. I mean, dude even talks about running away together to live alone in the woods. Headcanon works for the rest!

I'm replaying it and HotU right now. No shame! Do it!

It was probably the most satisfying line I've ever had in a video game.

So, I did just load it up, and it works! I'd forgotten about it and apparently even installed some kind of higher definition face textures? Which isn't saying much, considering, but still. And now I have no recollection of how to build my character. I miss games where you had to allocate all your stats at the start. And with Inquisition I can't even allocate stats at all! *sigh* Oh well, time to do some reading up. I used to play a Cleric a lot, because I liked Turn Undead especially at the cemetery early on. Might have to go for something completely different this time.

I like to play characters on the younger side, it justifies them being a Level 1 newbie who has to train.

That's an RPG convention, however. It also makes no sense for Geralt in Witcher 3 to be level one with crappy loot, since he's a century old master Witcher who just spent two entire games scounging up the best stuff he could find. But he does. Same with Shepard in ME1 who's already a veteran N7, or the Courier in New Vegas who already lived for some time in the Wastes (albeit they did take two bullets to the head admitedly).

As to the OP, why not? People being in a relationship with older individuals is common. It's not like the age difference is that big, or that Cassandra is the only one. Blackwall is, I believe, older than Cass is and romanceable too. IB is also older than the PC is, probably.

Now, Solas with the female Elf PC, that's a relationship that has a massive age gap.

Tell you what: I'll trade you Sera for Cassandra :P

Fine with me. Let's arrange it with Bioware. I'm one of those who might romance Cassandra just because there are only 2 options, but she might do better with another gender.

Bisexual woman here and Sera is my favorite female romance! You can't have her!

I don't really want to take her from you, just give her the option to romance guys as well.

All this talk about Bishop (and Casavir) but it's Valen who stole my heart.

I actually romanced Cassandra as a guy.... So maybe she could be bisexual?

Valen was my very first video game love! It's the horns... the tail... that gargantuan flail...

 That's the conversation they have if you have higher influence with Bishop, I think. It goes a little differently if you have a better relationship with Cas.

I still like it, though. He's a raging dick on his best days, but he makes a good point here!

Gods, I miss the old Obsidian forums. Those were good times. Checking what your influence was and arguing about how to upgrade the Keep.

I'd do that but not sure bioware would go along with that. They seem to want to balance the number of straight/homosexual/bisexual characters so that they're all roughly an equal number for each group-at least for Inquisition. It's why i don't really expect a change in Sera's orientation either.

I just don't want to change my canon even more... Afterall, my poor Male Lavellan would be deleted on two worlds (seriously, I've had him on two world states; one Morrigan, Sebasation, Cassandra romance world, and my current one)

Like I said, it's subjective. Look wise I think Cassandra is average, but my biggest is issue with her is religious. She is very dedicated and dutyful, good for her, too bad those dedications are for groups and beliefs I despise. No functional romance would ever come from that, I'm afraid. And don't get me wrong, I also dislike Sera a lot, but when I said approachable, I mean strictly romance wise. Not every guy likes cheesy stuff like poetry and having a romance like in a novel (I certanly don't). Sera is more straighfoward in that regard, apart from the juvenile pranks.

Her religious aspects might be an issue for me in real life (or maybe not, I haven't tried), but I don't mind making accommodations for things like that in games, since she does let you be whoever you want, so it seems fair to let her do the same, and because I have a feeling if people were as picky with romances in games as they are in real life, you'd have a lot fewer people doing romances :P

I can see where you think that, but no it's Josephine leaning on the Inquisitor. You can tell by the blue and gold outfit and the golden ornamentation on Josephine. That is the end of the scene at the end of the romance quest

(I may or may not have this image as the background of my Xbox  )

Yes indeed, though I didn't really see her outfit properly on the achievement picture. Well it looks nice, cuddles are good :)

Haha, that's okay, I may or may not have this screenshot as my background on my Xbox :P

The same could be said for Leliana in Origins. Did you let that keep you from pursuing her romance?

Maybe so-I think I recall you liked Morrigan better but memory could be faulty.

It's a matter of personal taste; I met my wife when I was 24 years old and she was ten years my senior, when we married she was 41 and to me it was all right since I was always a bit of an old soul myself... Although one thing I guess could be a game breaker for a young inquisitor, as I said, when I married me old lady, she was already 41 and she wanted to have a family so we pretty much get down to business real quick instead of waiting a while as I would have liked. I don't remember ever Cassandra saying she looks forward for something like that, but if she does, it would be understandable that she'd want to get to it soon, thus being a problem to an inquisitior on the very young side and even some in the not-so-younger side. but no, I don't think she's old for being a love interest of the inquisitor, if anything I think she's the best since she has way more experiences than almost every other love interest.

But I guess the only real hassle would be in old age. I mean, in my country the life average is of around 70 years which is considerable, but I would really feel down if the person I love dies and I still have quite some mileage on me. being alone in old age really wears down people.
