Anyone else notice that the entire Hissing Wastes episode is a reference to Norse myth?

THE POETIC EDDA

The Poetic Edda, by Henry Adams Bellows, [1936], at sacred-texts.com

Volspo:

14. The race of the dwarfs | in Dvalin's* throng
Down to Lofar | the list must I tell;
The rocks they left, | and through wet lands
They sought a home | in the fields of sand.

* Dvalin: in Hovamol, 144, Dvalin seems to have given magic runes to the dwarfs.

My knowledge of Norse myth is limited to what I've read in Marvel comics, so no. But an interesting comparison, nonetheless.

Me again! You might like to try reading 'Gardens of the Moon'  by Steven Erikson. This huge fantasy series came off the back of table top gaming and you can see this type of influence in DA:I rather than just the Tolkien and Norse myth influence. Fantasy is a huge melting pot :)
