I mean.....

This is absolutely soul stirring. When I was fighting that final boss, I couldn't get over how powerful the message the music was sending was. I loved DAI's soundtrack, and Trespasser's even more. I think that Trevor Brings the Dragon Age feel more than Inon Zur.

Please bring back Trevor Morris!

Agree or disagree?

I'd love to have him back to compose the next game.

Disagree. I want Inon Zur back, his music was so much more memorable than anything in Inquisition. There isn't really a single track from the Inquisiton soundtrack that pops into my head at any given time, whereas I still remember the main theme, character creation music, Ostagar battle theme, Denerim march, I am the One as the credits music, and virtually every track from the Leliana's Song OST.

I also really liked Aubrey Ashburn's vocals (most of them were even in elven), they added something to the overall atmosphere of the game that DAI sorely lacks in terms of music.

Trevor Morris' music doesn't sound like fantasy-ish at all, it could be from any historical movie that features a medieval setting. Then there is also the fact, that there is virtually no background music during exploration is DAI.

I agree, loved DAO/DAA/some DA2 tracks.

I love Journey to Skyhold from the DAI soundtrack, but I agree that nothing can beat Inon Zur's work.

DAI had my favorite DA soundtrack by far so I'd love him back too. DAO and DA2 had great themes and the music worked well in-game but I never felt the urge to listen to them on their own.

Trevor Morris totally owns the sound of Dragon Age now. Keep him coming back for as long as this series is made. 3587% better than Inon Zur.

This is why I love music. I'm the opposite. Inon Zur's music for DAO and DA2 was quite bland and boring to my ears. There wasn't a single track that was memorable, it all washed into the background and was forgotten. Whenever I replay those games, I turn down the audio and play my own playlist. DAI finally had a soundtrack that added to the world (in cut scenes because that is where the bulk of the music is, sadly) and was memorable. For me, the Dragon Age series and Thedas was missing music that could bring the world to life. Trevor Morris did that for me. So, I'm always fascinated how different people have the opposite reaction to both composers and their music for Dragon Age. :)

I thought the soundtrack of DAI was exceptionally poor given that I've barely heard any of it during THE GAME.

I second, third, and fourth this...best game sound track I have ever played/ heard.  And the Elder One Theme is right up there with the Imperial march for bad guy music.

Signed! Couldn't agree more. I like Inor Zur's work for the series, there are some real gems, and when it was announced he'd be replaced I was a bit apprehensive. Then when DAI's title track was released, I was just sitting here at my desk, not expecting anything...and it was so beautiful, I wept! I'll never forget the look on my husband's face.

DAI's soundtrack, including the DLCs, I listen to from beginning to end, whenever I need inspiration, or I just want to relive the world through its music. You're absolutely right, it is soul stirring. No composer has made me feel this way since Nobuo Uematsu and Yasunori Mitsuda.

Trevor Morris for DA4!

Never really cared for Inon Zur tbh except for the main theme to DA 2.  Which is odd because the music to FO 4 is pretty amazing...wonder what happened?

And speaking of the main theme:

I remember reading somewhere (sorry I don't remember where) that Inon Zur said DA2's soundtrack was a "rush job". If lifting from DAO's soundtrack is any indication, I'd say that seems right. I do love the Main Theme, Hawke Family Theme, and Fenris' Theme though. <3

And thanks for the link, I've never heard this mix before!

Did this guy make the rest of the music in the game? If so, no. I pray and hope he does not come back. Only two pieces of the work that he did for Inquisition made me feel anything. Only two were any good. I say get rid of him and bring in someone else.

Yes, please! He was fantastic, and with Trespasser he solidified his position as the composer for DA. I never felt Zur's work really clicked with DA, Origins had a very generic sound, and 2 was a hit or miss. The only thing BW themselves need to change is make the loops longer, I much prefer the approach, where the music keeps playing almost constantly. It's much more work, but it's worth it. I haven't played Skyrim in a long time, but I'm still listening to Jeremy Soule's soundtrack.

In general, I tend to enjoy Zur's work, when it's other composers, who defined the style of the music for the series before him (Fallout, Icewind Dale, Baldur's Gate). Morris definitely gave DA the unique sound the series was missing.
