Other than the breather masks, I've been mostly okay with the helmets offered thus far.

I do think I'd like to see more helmets with completely transparent faceplates, so you could see character's faces when they are wearing helmets.

From what they've shown so far in the trailer, concept art and renders, it looks like we'll probably be getting exactly that in Andromeda! I really like the bubble helmet design they've shown off--it recalls older real-world spacesuit designs, and fits perfectly with the, 'We are explorers' concept that the game seems to be leaning into.

And, as you say, we'll actually be able to see our characters emoting in conversations through the transparent dome, which is a massive plus in and of itself.

But what if I sneeze or happens to fog up the glass? :o

Then I wouldn't see a thing, and would most likely get shoot by some unfair enemy.  :(

That's why you install miniature windshield wipers in your helmet.

The new helm design I hate it in the trailers I hope it's not the perm design that will be shown in the different levels armor, the Helmut just doesn't fit with deep space themed games that ME has been known for it not practical for any use in my eyes its the worst design due to what if they go underground and there's a earth quake no amount of shields is going to protect the head if boulders are raining down on them and or getting slammed to the ground

It would be cool if there was more than one helmet, and you could swap them out and customize, similar to how you could mix and match individual pieces of armor in ME3.

If so, I'd stick with the N7 style helmets from the Shepard trilogy. I think they look better than the bubble helm, despite showing a smaller portion of a character's face.

What's to say that some futuristic clear material is not every bit as strong as the metallic stuff helmets were made of in the 2180s and resistant to fogging over as well?  I hope there will be a selection of helmet designs... and I personally will likely choose the ones that show the face.

And then my nose get caught by the wipers.... <_<

If nothing else that will serve as a good distraction for my team mates.  :D

Hey man, we all have our preferences--I just like me some 50s astronaut-looking space domes. That said, to address your primary non-aesthetic complaint:

The future's a wonderful place. Hell, so's the present, as it turns out.

when I meant when I said to use the helmet as a granade, I meant a powerful granade, a sort of little nuke explosion....the trade off has to be fair...but I undertand that this idea is a bit nuke! :-P....

Again, why would you strap a bomb to something that protects your head from trauma? (Never mind the fact that what you're talking about is a nuclear device and ionizing radiation gives you cancer)

The first idea with the retracting blade is something!, I would like to use this weapon as a melee weapon, a memorable one even if a bit crazy...

I just wanted to explain how there are a lot of interesting elements to play with....

And if by crazy you mean illogical, sure, also helmets are there to protect your head which you seem to not quite get.

well, the speaker idea is interesting as according to the helmet chosen  you can have a different set of bestial scream...

What is this "bestial scream" nonsense? You think being an edgelord is going to make your enemies scream in terror?

No, OP. You are likely a very impressionable person that doesn't THINK about the stuff.

Take a good look at the last century in military head protection, starting with the Brodie helmets, and ending with the MICH 2000 series. They're all intended to protect you first, then a long list of blank points, and THEN, MAYBE, "looking cool."

You might even find some of the "futuristic" helmets with Spartan-like cheekguards, and yeah, that's perfectly fine (though I don't think they could stop a bullet, it's likely to deflect shrapnel - and most helmets aren't rated past 9mm anyway) but will you ever see anything like you're describing? NO.

For the same reason there are not massive spikes on pauldrons. You would be likely to get tied up, and they would prove a liability, if not outright being the reason an enemy gets the upper hand in the first place.

The most "fancy" things a helmet should have are protection layers - both active and passive - and not offensive ones that will either outright kill you (nukes mounted so yo ucan throw the helmet, that's just plain stupid) or be a liability (seriously, an eight-inch blade?). You're looking at the rifle in your hands and the grenades in your pouches when it comes to the killing. NOT YOUR GOD DAMN KEVLAR.

I would say, a lot.

What do you think?

I would say a lot to your brain is the most important part of your body and that needs to be well protected i only hope they would design a helmet that also leaves room for my hair because i just love my hair ;).

My hair is not as important as my brain but it's close :P

Helmet and armor design does not give me any sleepless nights, that's one of the things that was consistently good throughout the ME franchise.

I've always liked the Recon Hood best:
