A lot of people seem to really hate him... Forget the fact that he was in a DLC imo he was a pretty good character, His reactions to the "primitives" And sharing stuff from 50K.
So... Am I the only one who actually likes javik?

Javik one of my favorite companion. Whats wrong with him?
He wonder at the evolution of the races, but finally he recognizes what they have achieved. Especially the alliance against the Reapers.

Hm, over in the ME3 Story section, I have the impression Javik is generally liked. Haven't encountered a lot of people that don't like him.
He's one of my favourite squad mates.

He has the best putdowns, I can't hate characters who can verbally eviscerate with ease. Which is why I really loved Dragon Ages Morrigan and Vivienne also.

I don't know how the game decides that whole whichever team member was closest to you is the one to come out of the ship third but Javik came out in my end game and i couldnt figure out why. I talked to everyone the same amount of time and rarely used him in missions.

I like Javik. He might not be my favorite, but I don't hate him. In the end he comes around -- or as much as he's willing to.
He certainly hasn't had the easiest life. He also offers a lot of interesting insight into what we thought we knew about, well, everything.

That might have something to do with which ending you picked, who you romanced (if anyone) and who is still alive. I've noticed changes because of these factors in my playthroughs.
For instance, when I picked the "red" ending (I think), it was Joker (like always) then my romance, Garrus, and then Javik -- and I wouldn't say that I paid him any more special attention than anyone else.
As such, it was different for the other endings I've done. It's more like they just pick whoever best fits the ending situation, I suppose.
Edit: actual examples
:
In my first playthrough I chose the "green" ending, and so saw Joker, Edi and then Kaidan (my romance).
Or when I chose the "blue" ending, it was Joker, Romance, and then Edi.

Or at least from what I've seen, because I didn't buy the DLC. So my opinion is basically invalid.
Though I do like his Wreave comeback:
"And what race are you?"
"Prothean."
"Really, and how many of you are left?"
"Enough to kill you."

Honestly, he's the only one who is emphatic and actually felt closer to Shepard. He wasn't impressed by Shepard's accomplishment at all and understands the person underneath the shell who he knew is similar to him. He's surprisingly wise, attentive and observant. He's a lot meaner to others, have a general pessimistic view for everyone or affectionately "primitives", hate synthetics including EDI, openly ridicules Liara (although he still somewhat attracted to her in the end), also he have specific line for Talimancers too ("Your quarian seems pleased with your choice. Perhaps she will reward you with a reproductive ritual.") Despite being a mere add-on, he's way more fleshed out than other Bioware's DLC companions (Kasumi, Zaeed, Sebastian, Shale) and honestly, I don't think I've read anyone like him, John Dombrow outdid himself crafting an original character, can't really think anyone like him....
Never had a one night stand with him though so I'm spared from that trauma. Love the Samurai insectoid look.

I mean he's hilarious, lore rich and insightful. I expect the people that dislike him are in the minority.
Unless it's a principle thing due to the day one DLC thing, which I totally understand.

I adore him. Sure, some of his ideals are a bit extreme but he was born towards the end of the Reaper harvest phase of the cycle, where there was nothing but survuval going on. Things the Shep and her crew still have a hold of, like music and breakfast eggs, are only dreams in his lifetime.

No. I love Javik - especially in the Citadel DLC where he is a massive troll to everyone - his mission combat lines are hilarious.

The only thing I didn't like about Javik was that so much of his content was already on the game disc, and on the PC version he could be unlocked by changing a couple of lines.
It always struck me as wrong that Bioware made a Prothean, arguably the most important race in the Mass Effect universe, into the optional Day One DLC. Was there any Mass Effect fan who wouldn't want a Prothean character in order to learn about this mega important race?

And it should be noted that javik, pretty much like the entire cast of ME3, has great iteractions not only with shepard, but also with the other squad-mates and the people on the normandy. Zaed and Kasumi were poorly implemented in ME3. They had very few exclusive scenes and no connection with the other members of the crew. Javik blends in nicely
I loved the character. His presence can impact the game in so many ways that I would recommend to anyone to have at the very least two runs on ME3. One without Javik and one with him. His scenes with Grunt, Wreav, Edi and Liara are pure joy. His powers are awesome. The weapon included on his DLC is fantastic (it lets you play ME3 in a similar fashion to ME1 and it´s at the same time a toned down heavy weapon from ME2 for all moments). He can greatly impact missions like Thesia. All of his possible endings were great. His backstory is nicely done. He can help create some crazy biotic combos. Like Zaed in ME2, he´s a great companion to a Renegade Shepard. And to a Paragon shepard too, because you need to keep them in line, and in the case of Javik, pretty much like you could do with Garrus in ME1, you can help him understand that there´s more to life than war, duty and revenge.
What´s not to like about this guy?
Oh, I get it. Yeah, he required extra cash.
But you know what? I don´t care. Take my money, Bioware/EA. Bioware games are worth every penny. They offer a great balance of fun per dollar spent and they have immense replay value. Is it exploitive? Yeah, to a degree. But they never touched my back with a loaded gun and forced me to spend money on their products. I did it because I wanted. And I have no regrets (I would have regreted pinnacle station, but it came bundled with my ME1 trilogy version, so I don´t care). Aside from some PS3 exclusive items I have all the dlc for the trilogy. I´ve played these games for hundreds of hours. I like them so much that I very much prefeer to replay the trilogy many times than to try and explore some purchases that I made on steam. What´s 10 bucks compared to the hours of fun these games provided me with and the many more that they are yet to provide?

This is actually why I find it very hard to believe Bioware when they say that From Ashes was developed after the game was finished. Javik is too well integrated into the game.
Perhaps I'm just being paranoid and underestimating Bioware, but Zaeed and Kasumi felt like content that was made post game while Javik just doesn't.

I didn't buy "From Ashes" because paying money for a character I would hate (and never use) seems like a stupid idea, but yes...there are enough people who like him.
Is that because he talks smack to Liara?
I like how apathetic he is.
I would be the same.
I wouldn't care about any of the species in this cycle. I only care about getting revenge against the reapers for what they did to my species
