Anyone experienced a control lockup mid-game? I'm trying to work out if it was lag related or something else. Midway through a match I lost trigger ability. I ended up cowering in a corner for at least a round, tried rebinding my trigger to an unused keyboard command, mashed pretty much every button on my keyboard, and discovered none of my special abilities were working either. Eventually decided maybe I should try respawning so ran off to find some enemy to kill me. Must have been startled when I found them or something as I sqeezed the trigger, and heard a bang. Yay!     Unfortunately I was shortly down to about 10% health so had to run back around a corner to cower some more     I was able to get back into the game after that but I'm still puzzled as to what caused the glitch. Any ideas?

 

 

 

Apologies Doc, Paper, and whoever else it was I was playing with against the Geth on Firebase Hydra. I didn't abandon you, I just couldn't actually do anything.

Were there any Volus, geth engineer or Juggernaut kits in that match? Did it happen during an escort objective?

That sounds like you were locked up by shield recovery (usually from a Volus.) Heavy Melee is the only reliable way to get out of it without killing yourself/respawning (Ironically, Volus Heavy Melee won't work, leaving Volus unable to fix themselves if locked up by another Volus.)

 

Edit: To clarify, there's a bug that most commonly expresses itself when a Volus restores someone's shields just as they are reloading their weapon. The bug can be caused a few ways, but because the speed of Volus shield restore is so much faster than everything else, they are the most common cause.

I don't think I've ever seen a Volus. I don't think there were any Juggernauts in that match, but there could have been a Geth Engineer. I didn't really pay attention to what the others had at the time, plus 1 match blends into another. I'd've taken screenshots if ME3\Origin had that feature but ...  

 

If it happens again I'll try a heavy melee attack whilst cowering somewhere

Pretty much that, plus the escort drone and the healing turrets (both the GE and Juggy have it) can also cause it.

Happened to me a few weeks ago. There were no volus or any other known bug. Not only weapons, but powers quit. Could not even mount rockets. Melees did not restore. Nothing helped. And the other three teammates had already bled out. The only thing that saved the day was I was using the demolisher, so I could pitch grenades until everything was dead. Then I cowered around until extraction. 

 

Never did find out what caused it. Only happened that once. 

 

One possibility--last week my hard drive died completely. There could have been some kind of read/write error a few weeks ago. I have been noticing problems that I thought were lag, but they could have been drive errors.

I've had the trigger issue a couple of times. Don't remember if any Volus were around.

Had another one today where I couldn't pick up any thermal clips. Cerberus on White. Game started out with me doing almost no damage to anything. Then I ran out of ammo and couldn't restock from an ammo box. Couldn't use my own thermal clip pack either. Ran around meleeing and hiding a lot. Then the problem seemed to fix itself.
