I usually just use the Quick Match option and look for a game. Recently I was dropped into a solo match and the host quit just after the first round. I'm an average player at best but surprised myself by staying alive for several rounds hoping all the while that another player, or 3, would drop in and help out. 26 minutes into the match I died and decided to stay dead. How long does it usually take to get teammates if hosting? I never really have trouble finding matches so I'd have thought it'd have been easy to get teammates in an in-progress game. Any ideas?

The variables are pretty numerous, but the bulk of the problems are related to how the game connects people to each other.
The highest priority is given to games with three players in them, and lowest priority to lobbies with one person in them. That means that if you start a lobby as host and then wait, you could be waiting for a long time. Someone will only be connected to your lobby if there are no games in progress or lobbies with more players in them when they attempt to join.
In my experience, waiting for 30-60 minutes happened a lot more than I would have liked. Eventually, I stopped hosting entirely, because I preferred jumping into a quick game.
It's unusual to go through a whole game in progress without anyone joining, but it would most commonly happen if you are alone (as any game in progress with more then one player in it will get priority for new joining players.)

You both have strange minds.
Nightman's is obviously much more... surprising.
At least love matchmaking would be somewhat acceptable.

I find that on PS3, if it takes too long, back out of quick search completely, qs again and I get a match quickly. 1st noticed this a few days ago and it has worked the last 4 times that I've done it yesterday and today. Might be BS, but that is how I have been able to find games quickly.
I do the same thing on PC and it seems to work more often than not. When it doesn't work, I just say **** it and make my own lobby.

I've noticed that when I do that on PC the likelihood of me winding up in a different difficulty than the one I am queuing for (99%plat) increases significantly. =/
I'll stick with my store mythology. Don't back in and out quickly, go to the store. It fixes everything almost all the time. ![]()
