Hypothetically, if EA were farm out the Mass Effect IP, what studio would you want on the franchise?

You mean the buggy mess that completly stops making narrative sense during the finale, unless you install mods?

As for the OP:

I would say CDPR as well, if I had to chose. They'd most likely deliver a good story. Though I would fear that they would force me to play as some grizzled warrior-dude again. *Sigh*

They "force"—and what an odd word to use, at that—you to play as "some grizzled warrior-dude" because the protagonist of source material it's adapted from is said "grizzled warrior-dude." If your response is, "I knew that already," then you should probably refrain from bleating about it.

Obsidian CDPR Bethsda are all nug nuggets.

Highly overrated fad producing hype trains, basically Activision with less money.

Gimme someone capable of producing moving content that actually delivers without modding the **** out of it to make it playable.

The death of Lee Everitt being a good example but not the be all and end all of the conversation.

Fun time: Lee Everitt's VA played Jacobs dad in ME2.

The witcher franchise is outright garbage. Keep that crap outta my bioware games.

You already got all the EA you want so far. Pure, unadulterated EA goodness. :P

Fallout: New Vegas was pretty good.

Not the shooter portion. VATS has always been the only good part of 3 and NV's combat. And Alpha Protocol might have the worst shooting gameplay I've ever played outside of like....Mission Impossible on PS1.

Mass Effect getting the Tales From The Borderlands treatment from Telltale, could be fun.

How does a bunch of polish RPG developers with an obscure IP become the fad hypetrain? Every single one of those elements works against them.

I can't think of anyone who would do the cinematic action RPG stuff justice other than CDPR right now though. It's mostly their and Bioware's domain at the moment.

By looking at American devs and saying, 'we don't want to be that'.

That's the only Polish dev I've liked so far..

I mean, I didn't want to play their games at first.. because of stuff like Two Worlds (if you don't know it, don't bother lol).

I like Valve games in general because overall they are good and even run on PCs with bad rig. I like their pricing too.

On-topic: CD Projekt RED. Been playing Witcher series and I gotta admit they designed the game well with all the medieval setting. So, I believe they have the potential to handle space theme for a game like Mass Effect.

Easy. CD Projekt Red

No, simply because I don't want anything taking them away from Cyberpunk :P.  However to answer Obsidian, or Harebrained Schemes.

Well, it's America's hat, so I guess guilty by association? Thinking about the comment though, I suspected that slim was meaning devs other than BioWare.

Obisidian are ok, but they don't have the same magic as Bioware.
Right now I'd pick CD Projekt Red.

That's Not Too Big Of A problem because neither does Bioware. Lol.

But seriously, Obsidian. But it if it's more a solo without a team experience, Square-Enix (because Tomb Raider which got cheated out of GotY) or CDPR. Bethesda could be OK depending on what you're looking for as well. They probably would've done something with those pyramids in ME1. lol.. we also might have encountered more in regard to Cerburus given how Bethesda handles factions. Not to mention a more lively world in terms of NPCs.

Have we learnt nothing from cold drip hipsters?

Simply being polish game developers with an obscure IP might be enough to sell a million copies to Cloud Atlas watching, Chinese restaurant food porn tweeting, star trek gif posting, nerds who want desperately to get in first just to say so.

Well, I think there's plenty of good independents..

But you kind of need an EA to make games like this. Or something like it..unfortunately.

That is the unfortunate truth of it. What Bioware needs is the same space and budget a developer like Naughty Dog gets from Sony. If that relationship existed between the two there would be almost no issues here. Atleast lately Bioware has gotten decent development time for both DA:I and now this. We'll see if it helps in the long run.
