The top image shows the tool set view for an area, hopefully you can guess which one.

The lower is the same area in game. All of the pit tile have reverted to the original orientation. Some have shed thier textures. Is there a way to stop the tile behaving like this?

Which tiles/tileset ? it looks like tiles from the Standard Tileset Expansion pack for the Standard Interior.

They're from the tintable SI expansion set.

Hmm, I'm fairly sure I tested those in game and they worked.

Ed.: Ah, I see now. My additions were variants 8 & 9 of the open floor tiles (which are rebuilt variants 3 & 4); those rotate okay. Unfortunately, now that I look at it, they don't take retexturing properly and they have a smoothing issue.

PJ: I need to look at the tile models to see if I can address the texturing issue. If not, I may need to build some custom variants employing those textures.

I vaguely recall a bug when a tile was rotated before it was placed versus rotated once it was in place.

Yes, my workaround (with variants 8 & 9) was to remove the _RF from the floor part names and apply the projected texture flag instead. Unfortunately, the game no longer recognizes those parts as flooring and so the textures won't swap. I'll have to create some custom variants for this purpose.

I think things worked right if you did one of the rotate first/place first options.

Tiles placement options:

1) rotate the tile before you click to put it down, so when you put it down it's already in the desired orientation

2) Immediately put the tile into place, then rotate into the desired orientation.

Theoretically they should both produce the same results, but iirc there was a bug with some tiles where they did not and the tile needed to be rotated to the correct orientation before placement. That's was not a visible problem when the floor is flat, but if a floor can't be rotated and you try to rotate it, it doesn't actually rotate the floor (but does rotate the walls and floor) which is a problem when the floor is not flat. There's a known cause (the floor parts of the tile not being marked correctly in the model), and an unknown cause. I trust that rjshae has marked the floors correctly.
