So, the expected Andromeda game trailer will show what, besides FB3 visuals? Something new? Something fresh? Something original? Something that grabs our attention?

From what I understand ME:A will have

1. guns = same old, same old

2. biotics = same old, same old

3. three team composition = same old, same old

4. romance = same old, same old

5. quests = same old, same old

6. "elf root" gathering = same old, same old

Now, Bio did mention that Andromeda will give the player unprecedented freedom but from what? Exploring vast emptiness with the Mako? Will Andromeda spice up the Mass Effect franchise? Will it be so new that we won't like it or will it offer a facade of ME1-3 similarities that brings boredom a few hours into the game?

Will the trailer show us something different?  What do you want it to show?

I don't particularly want it to show anything I want, I just wanna see it.

Some gameplay footage would be most welcome however.

Good looking Salarians.

Hanar jokes.

Krogan.

A mako.

A human female.

An N7.

A giant boat to save us from the impending flood. Woops I meant a giant space ship to save us from the reapers while the Shepard dies for our sins in the Milky Way.

Riders on the storm.

Khet.

A Quarian.

New Garrus.

I think the trailer will have:

1. music = same old, same old

2. moving pictures = same old, same old

3. characters = same old, same old

4. characters talking = same old, same old

5. gameplay = same old, same old

The trailer has to be in 7D and come with a foot massage, and the game has to replace quests with a 100% accurate simulation of being a space soldier (but with, like, lasers, biotics are boring!), or I'll be outraged! Do it BW, or I'll preorder MEA and then immediately cancel it!

Spoiler

(Warning: like, masses of .gifs in there.)

Spaceships doing dope space stuff. It doesn't really take much more than that to make me happy! (For real, though, a good look at the Tempest - inside and out, though there should still be a few surprises - would be great.)

If it were something different, then I doubt we could guess it.

Bear in mind that nostalgia alone would please the crowd, so BIoWare don't need to do much other than show the general audience that there's another Mass Effect game. Given the scope of ME:A, I can't imagine that they would have much else up their sleeves. You can't just develop an awesome central feature like Shadow of Mordor's nemesis system over top an expansive RPG. There just isn't the time. That said, I'd imagine that the main talking points will be a "return to form" for exploration.

If the 100s of worlds statistic is accurate, expect that to be one of, if not the biggest selling points. Even if those planets are filled with boring collectible quests, the fact that BioWare were able to create such a vast number of distinct planets is fairly impressive (and a great crowd pleaser if No Man's Sky is any indication). They'll bring out the new Mako possibly while nodding to the original's wonky handling. More importantly, we'll likely see how a bigger Mass Effect game would work: how the levels are structured, how ambient combat comes into play (if there's ambient combat), and how a cinematic story fits around it.

Isn't it a little early to discuss a trailer that hasn't even been released? Can't we just talk about romance more or something?

1. Why would the guns be completely different?
2. Why would biotics be different?
3. Why change core gameplay mechanics?
4. You expected them to ditch romances?
5. We already know quests will be different by virtue of having giant maps.
6. Since when has Mass Effect had that mechanic, and why are you assuming MEA has it?

I want the trailer to have a little narrative for keeping the hype up until launch or a gameplay teaser like below, exploring a planet or some place maybe(good way to show the engine visuals). At this point, I'm just itching for anything new about ME:A.

Wow.

By the looks of things, no matter what's in the trailer or in the game, Mass Effect Andromeda's going to have a hard time of it.

People complaining about a trailer/game that hasn't even come out yet: same old, same old.  <_<

Isn't this exactly what they need to show? There's been an awful lot of whining about how ME:A isn't really Mass Effect.

I think Sartoz wants to know if BioWare is going to have some kind of "wow factor," presumably like Fallour 4's weapon customization and settlement building. However, given Mass Effect's unique niche and comfortably infrequent release schedule, I don't think the franchise needs another gimmick for "wow factor." Merely getting another sci-fi action RPG is enough for people.

In fact, following the Fallout 4 example, I'd say that the new feature would need to be pretty groundbreaking to avoid being completely overshadowed by the rest of the game's hype.

That is the point. Bio always make changes "for the better". I particularly did not like DA:I combat system. With Andromeda, Bio has said it's new but kept some familiarity with the trilogy. Having said this, I'm curious if the trailer is an actual game recording which I would then compare to what Bio has already mentioned about the game.

In other words, if the trailer shows the Mako exploring does that mean 70+ similar worlds? Will the game show a recording of actual game combat? Will it show new weapons? new armours? new aliens? Will the trailer grab and keep our attention? Will it just highlight the "action"? Will the graphics beat the original trailer?

Will a game recording show us it's a Mass Effect game?

I wonder if they'll do a ME3, and make the trailers better than the game.

Honestly, I think they are going to focus more on the group of people that want them to go back to what Mass Effect 1 was like so the Mako, exploration, some combat, etc.  The only new feature they might put a focus on is the jetpack since they have shown that already.  One thing I am almost certain of is that they will only show content that has been locked in to the game with no chance of removal.

Of course I would want to see the protagonist's face, Cora and drak, and maybe some khet. Anything is better than nothing.

Just don't. You already know trailers are ALWAYS better than the actual game. So sad but it's true.

I'm not really fussed about the protagonist's face, to be honest, in much the same way as I never really cared about that bald bloke who popped up in most of the trailers.

I honestly wouldn't mind if they just pulled a DA:I and kept the protagonist's appearance vague in advertising, obscured by armour and a helmet.

bald bloke? Pretty harsh. Mark Vanderloois a pretty good looking guy. But maybe the protags face should be left anonymous. Then again, if the default face looks good....

Okay, he wasn't quite bald, but about as close as you can get without a razor.

I didn't really like the look of Shepard on any of the cover arts. Especially that really annoying expression on his face on the ME2 box art.

I can't really remember much about how Shepard tended to look on the box art, but then, I'm one of those idiots who spent the extra money on the collector's editions (or Collectors' Edition, in the case of ME2, which remains one of my very favourite subtle puns) and the only one of those with Shepard on the cover was ME1.

Well becuase they lack originality and must copy Bethesda in the way they handled FO4. I say I'm not expecting much from the trailer, all the meat of the game will probably be shown at E3.
