Let's pretend that 6 guys faced each other.

- A Soldier

- A Biotic Adept

- A Vanguard

- An Infiltrator

- A Sentinel

- And an Engineer

in a medium range fight, which class would end up winning?

I think biotic charge is gameplay rather than lore. As a power it makes no sense whatsoever.

The infiltrator would win. All it would have to do would be cloak and then wait for everyone else to destroy each other, then headshot the victor when they were vulnerable - ie before their shields recharged after defeating the other guys.

So assuming that the infiltrator wins on that basis (and any other basis due to the fact that turning invisible can basically win anything else)... assuming that everyone charged into the middle of a room, I reckon the Adept would be the first to die based on the unpredictability of biotics and lack of advanced combat training.

The vanguard would be the next to go, again based on the unpredictability of biotics. Biotics in the gameplay are very reliable but this is not the case in the lore.

The sentinel would probably be the focus of fire from the engineer and the soldier due to tech armour and would probably be taken down because they are such a bright/big/strong target. The soldier would then kill the engineer but suffer heavy damage to shields and armour leaving the infiltrator to headshot the soldier out of nowhere and that's why the infiltrator wins.

I'm not sure how the question can be related to lore... it's clearly a gameplay set up.  I suggest you run the Citadel DLC Mirror Match.  Whichever Shepard is the toughest for you is the answer.

So Vanguard > Engineer > Soldier/Adept/Sentinel > Infiltrator?

Lore-wise, there are no such things as 'classes'. There is only 'Are you a biotic?' and 'Do you have a good gun?' and 'Do you have a good Omni-Tool, good with electronics/hacking?'.

Generally speaking, a good biotic -- lore-wise -- can kill a bunch of people at once with a great biotic display, followed by a real long cooldown. Lore-wise, biotics can only generate a few 'impressive' biotic displays before becoming too tired to do anymore.

Now a good tech attack can disable a bunch of people at once as well, and a good grenade/mine/bomb and/or weapon will kill very quickly as well. So it really comes down to who can attack first.

So Vanguard > Engineer > Soldier/Adept/Sentinel > Infiltrator?

Pretty much.  Actually, the OPs question was, if the six classes faced each other, which one would wind up winning.  The answer, when it comes to the Mirror Match, is actually whichever class the player is playing, isn't it?  Ironically, my easiest win of that match so far has been with the Infiltrator.

We do agree though, the classes are really not a lore thing.

Lorewise there are no classes and even if we go with the different class thing, the power level of the classes vary from the matchmaking.

But anyway, I will go with Vanguard or Adept because biotics are way more powerful in lore than in gameplay because of balance, trained biotics are far more agile and flexible (move throw walls, charge or teleport) and have all kind of instant kill or neutralize powers. Sure, Sentinel can be put here but afaik this class isn't on the biotic power level as the other two.

Having said that, Infiltrator can also be a candidate for the strongest class title because infinite stealth (ala Kasumi) + dagger/sword in your head or simply snipe. Although iirc there are sensors for stealth detection so we can only assume how this will unfold. I base my knowledge that Kasumi has never been caught and she is in stealth mode 24/7.

Having said all of this, I will reiterate again that it heavily depends on the location, the knowledge of the opposition and etc.

Infiltrator.

Because invisibility is cheap.

I would think an adept would be the most powerful. Speaking of which, I thought it was weird that Jack was supposed to be this crazy-powerful biotic, and she was built like a vanguard instead of an adept.

Biotic Adept. A truly powerful Biotic can basically use magic and warp reality. You can argue a Vanguard, but their biotics are not strong enough to match.
