Bioware had the balls to make one specific ending to ME3 canon and just ran with it in ME:A?

They already confirmed that they wouldn't do that. But.... if they did I would be upset. That's and understatement. It might have been best to do that from the start. Have same ending but different consequences. Too late now.Bioware had the balls to make one specific ending to ME3 canon and just ran with it in ME:A?

They might as well do it too. It doesn't affect anything other than the last 5-10 minutes of ME3. It's not like we make any big decisions during the playthrough in order to enable a particular ending choice.

They won't. They told no ending is canon.
If they do that, they will kill the immersion for too many people depending of what end you picked. That would made our choices totally irrevelant.

Making destroy canon doesn't take any balls. It's the logical thing to do.

Making an ending canon is selfish? From a story telling point it makes perfect sense. I think it's all the people mad about their ending not being canon that are the selfish ones.

No the destroy ending. Canon ending would've been fine but one in which key choices ultimately affected it. Not unlike ME2.Making an ending canon is selfish? As much as I want to disagree, probably true. And they know it.They wrote themselves into a corner, this was the only way out of it.

For the good of everybody no ending should ever be canon. Imagine if you start your game and discover a choice you never picked ? you will be disgusted (I would be) at the very beginning of MEA. They will avoid that... or import your save/ask what ending you picked before starting the game. But they surely won't impose anything to the players, this is a too sensitive subject.

I really wouldn't mind. There was no human council with a human chairman. Anderson wasn't the councilor. Just a couple of decisions off the top of my head that they disregarded player choice. It wouldn't be a totally new thing.

The entire purpose of moving to Andromeda is to not have balls.

Nothing going to be canon is senseless. ME:A plot will sound like ripple effect outta nowhere.
"this game is very much a new adventure, taking place far away from and long after the events of the original trilogy."
BioWare may say a new adventure but they can't deny the trilogy(endings) completely, no matter how long after the Andromeda plot is taking place. Something has to be canon which should serve as a prologue to ME:A and then leading to a new journey.
- If control ending is canon, we should see the Reapers.
- If synthesis ending is canon, everything from MW will be part organic and part synthetic.
- If we don't see the above two scenarios happening in ME:A then likely it will be either destroy or complete-cycle ending. Species of MW either defeated the Reapers, re-built everything and headed to Andromeda or the surviving abandoned the galaxy completely and headed to Andromeda while the Reapers are gone into dark space.

The story will likely start with the expedition leaving before the end of the reaper war, so no one actually knows what went down in the end.
But if BioWare picked a canon ending, my reactions would be like this:
Destroy: Hell yeah!
Control: Uh, okay.
Synthesis: WTF! Alt-F4.

It'd be a big mistake. I always chose destroy, except for one Shep who failed big time and got the refusal ending.
I don't think I'll ever go with Synthesis or Control, I hate those endings with every fibre of my being so if either of them was considered 'canon' I'd lose it. That would not be okay. ![]()
And there's the rub. Whatever colour they chose a huge amount of fans would be super salty about it. They literally can't win, so they did the right thing and made none of them canon.
Now can the community please just shut the hell up about Shepard, and wanting to see Tali again and all that **** and just move on with their lives? It's over. (best Cassandra impression) ...Deal. With. It.

I don't really care if they pick a canon ending. I don't think it's necessary though, based on when I think the 'voyage' to Andromeda starts (before the end of ME3).
It's just a speculation, but considering they stated they don't want to pick one canon ending it works.

I don't know if it's true, but I rationalize the death of one of my favorite characters (EDI) in Destroy as her being willing to sacrifice herself for her friends just like Shepard. The Geth.... That's a tough one on me and I'm definitely not saying there were no casualties in losing the Geth (in my opinion) but ... I still personally like Destroy the most.
HOWEVER , I've also picked synthesize and refuse (on accident omg Bioware why did you stop letting me shoot space kids?). The only ending that would truly make me frown being picked is probably Control. That being said, I'd get over it really quick because it's not my game and I've always understood that the power is with Bioware / EA. They can do what they want really -shrugs-

a chinese website old news :
Casey Hudson said:Mass Effect: Andromeda happen before ME3,or happen same time as ME3,or start before reaper came.
& N7 day trailer tell us,they send some body running away from Milky Way,shepard still there.
Its before ME3 start, but after ME2.& after ME:A story start, reaper came to Milky Way.
So that why no canon.
hear what shapard said :
https://www.youtube....h?v=Rn98FdSg-Fo
Commander Shepard says in the video:
”We have no choice but to try for our insatiable curiosity, for our fear in what should happen if we don’t. You are the explorer now.”
