And MAN do I hate the Earth level on Insanity. All those Banshees, Brutes, Marauders, all those annoying little shites...I got through most of the game relatively pain free (sans the Rannoch level w/ THREE Primes at once), and just kept on dying over and over at the Thannox missile part. I feel so sorry for Garrus and Liara; just dying again and again as I ran around like a madman, taking shots at enemies and just trying to survive/

Interestingly, I only died once in that part.  If you hang behind the truck at the very start of the map, you only really deal with 2 banshees and a few brutes.  The rest won't bother you.  Then, once the signal to fire the second missile happens, just make a sprint for it and hit the interact button.  I was surprised at how easy it was.

Well done! You did good, son... You did good.

And yes, the last stand by the trucks can get hairy. I kinda love it, though. Too much of the game is a breeze, but here you gotta keep on your toes. Unless you do what niniendowarrior suggested... I wasn't aware of that trick.

Now to grind for that Best of the Best banner in multiplayer :P then you'll have truly beaten the game ;)

Thank you! Now, I don't know about the MP. tried it a few times but it never caught on.

That part feels intense even on Casual difficulty. I've never been that far on Insanity, but I can imagine that one battle would have given you nightmares to last years. Congratulations on getting to the end, though!  :)

Yeah, the MP part was mostly in jest... Even if you find multiplayer good, one of the challenges (promoting a high amount of characters) is just sooo time-consuming, I only managed it through the intense stubbornness of my inner completionist. So yeah, if multiplayer isn't to your liking, just stick with single-player :P

I dislike the Hades Cannon portion the most as far as the combat portions go.  Lot of excess screenshake, and it is possible to get killed in the shuttle, which is a bit strange IMO.

Of course the major gripe I have with it is that it plays out more or less like most other missions, and then you strangely have half an hour of non-combat which includes some late exposition.

Personally, the part I really hated was the marauders/husks in the end.  The aiming is so crappy and on insanity, that pistol does crap damage.  I got through by sheer luck on the marauders.

I had it tough on insanity were the geth primes in Rannoch.  I sort of expected it to be tough due my experience in multiplayer.  Luckily for me, my teammates aggro'd for me so I could tuck away on the far left side and mow them down while they siege pulsed my teammates to bits.

Kai Leng was pretty difficult for me even though I died only once.  It was the first time I've seen Kai Leng's sync kill animation so I went like... wow, what's this? :D  At the end, I fired the Ladon that I preserved from the very start of the mission to wipe out all the phantoms at the end.  After that, Kai Leng was a breeze.

On the last part of the asari monastery, I realized that sync kill did sync kill permanently, my teammates.  That was a surprise. :D  Both of them went down but I had enough MP experience to deal with the remaining banshees.  If it weren't for MP, I'd imagine that would be super hard.

As for the tip on hanging back behind the truck, I just treated the entire phase like MP extraction.  Just wait them out.  I even had time to run and revive my teammates who were clearly just there to goof around. :D

Oh yes, Kai Leng. The first time I died to him he charged me the moment his cut-scene ended, one-shotting me (if I remember correctly). After that, I just ran all around the arena like a chicken with my head cut off, taking random potshots at the add's and Leng himself.

I don't have that much complaints about ME3's Insanity.. I would if it still retain the nerf mechanics of ME1's insanity or ME2's bugs with cover and AI mechanics (like you can't peek out of cover as all enemies ALWAYS sees you and not your squadmates).. the last husks and marauder are tolerable if you mastered headshots...

Although I really hope there's an option to catch the grenade and lob it back to the enemies because YOLO

I was playing on a controller and for the life of me, I couldn't get the marauder/husks sequence right.  I think I died like a good 3 times on that spot, twice on the marauder and once because I couldn't hit a single husk. LOL. :D  It was worse than any boss fight in the game. LMAO!!!

Great. Congratulations. I'm sure it got pretty frustrating.

The insanity achievement is literally the last thing I need, but I have been hesitant to start another playthrough to get it. It's not that it's too hard - I beat the game on Hardcore the first time and play Gold MP matches a lot. But actually because (this might sound weak) Mass Effect 3 is kind of an emotional ride. It isn't something I just sit down and play casually. I've beaten it once and find it hard to go back and do it all again. It's like if I go back, all those plot twists and decisions I made will just be expected and ruined.

Eh, I don't know.

For what its worth, Insanity on ME3 doesn't feel tough at all, at least to me.  If you've gone through Gold, Insanity will seem like silver matches except for the few occasional spikes. :)

Honestly, thanks to starting at level 30 from an import, I had the easiest time on Insanity compared to 1 and 2. Marauder Shields I hated though.

In ME1 and 2, I couldn't truly do it, but luckily those two games had methods to completely cheese the game on the difficulties [never tried the easy way out for Lair of the Shadow Broker's Hardcore run out of fear the method wouldn't work, I did that one the old fashioned way, and I was insane myself by the time I managed to beat it].

2 involved the help of Gibbed. 1 involved reloading an old save file, changing the difficulty to hardcore/insanity, doing a couple other things, then only having to beat the final Saren boss then boom, the 'whole game' was beaten on Insanity ;)

I'm really hit and miss on that part on the Xbox 360 regardless of difficulty level.  Aced it on normal my first playthrough and aced it again on insanity on my second playthrough... did a third playthrough on normal and got stuck on that sequence for about 6 tries.  Replayed Earth on that save in insanity right afterward and aced it again.  I think a lot of it is just pure luck.

I can understand that. For me, I had already played ME3 through a lot, so I was able to shut myself off from the story, and just concentrate on the gameplay. But right now, I don't think I'll be starting this one again for a long time.
