Guy from east coast, maryland. Died already 62 years ago. Radio personality, composer and ofc poet.
Since he was east coast that probably made him liberal, which in turn means that 50% doen't know about him, there.

I have to say I agree that the refereeing wasn't quite correct and it affected the match. I guess it's not something that should be faulted on you guys tho. It's the guys who organize the Championship which should be blamed, together with the referee. But whatever, man. That European Championship was epic. I still remember the goosebumps I got during the semi final against Netherlands. And Totti doing the spoon And Toldo taking only one goal out of 5 penalties. Ah, good times!

 

I somehow think this Euro ain't gonna give us the same feelings.

I love to watch matches like the 1970 final, QMR. It's a totally different game altogether.

 

 

Despite not being italian, I remember well this game. It's still one of the most impressive show of defensive inteliigence and technique I have ever seen. Nesta, Cannavaro, Maldini... those guys were monsters. And yeah, that spoon from Totti... I thought, damn, this guy has really big *****, props to him.   

I really dont remember any secific about refeering in this 2000 final, but ...

OMG (and I rarely say that!), Grunt, those words were exactly what I said when saw the pic! Then continued my train of thought whether the wood there is on purpose or purely accidental (guessing with Oni, it can't be the latter..?) , and then also pondered whether it would be appropriate to point it out in jest. Thanks for saving me that trouble, Kittenhand.

 

And besides, Oni, at least that pic didn't suck at all, looks like a kind, nice guy right there.

We, as it happens, collect and LIKE old antique furniture. I thought this was made very clear in that post. Perhaps it would help if actually read the post and  not try to find all kinds of evil between every line one sees, huh. We have a saying here, 'reading like the devil reads the bible'.

I don't have one piece of laminated cräp in our house.

Secondly, we like Oni. he's a great guy to play with, have done so many times. What part of "that pic didn't suck at all, looks like a kind, nice guy right there " did you NOT understand, either? I  could not have phrased it any more clearly in English. Good grief.
