Well... I think I agree with that... you should make an effort for someone... but im not gonna make an effort without someone... im not gonna be a slob or anything but just kinda normal... if someone likes me then ill try and look pretty but ill just dress normally otherwise :)

I get what you mean. Make an effort for the one you love :) And just to be clear, I think it's okay to have bad hair days and days in sweatpants, in fact it can be very sexy.. when I say "slob" I basically mean gain 20 kilo and sit on the couch with potato chips all day, never brush your teeth etc.

If it's not there before you're in a relationship, though, it's not likely to last after one is formed. I train because it's who I am. At this point, I kinda doubt that I will have another woman in the middle of my life, but I'm still up at 0430 to ride, swim, or lift, and I'm still eating raw vegetables while I study. I wouldn't want a woman who has no inclination toward the same sort of thing but who pretends for awhile for my sake. I would likely become a focus for resentment when she decides she doesn't want to fake it anymore.

That's not to say that I expect a girl to be as driven as I am, but I want her motivations to be internal, not fabricated to keep me interested. People should want to take care of themselves for their own sake. It's a nice benefit to a potential lover, but the rewards are much broader than that.

I agree! You can't always know with people though. Some people give up on maintaining their looks once they get married, they start gaining weight and simply stop taking care of themselves. I think it's sad. Of course the effort should be made because the person wants to and not because it's faked, I just think it's important to do it.

Come to think of it, I'm a cyclist and tend to get favorable comments on my gams too.

From dudes.  Dudes at work.  Dudes on my softball team.  Just dudes.

Yeah girls only seem to compliment me on my arms. They're so mad with jealousy that our legs get more attention. Lol jk. Maybe women just aren't into legs.

Maybe that's why most gym guys throw the importance of symmetry out of the airlock

Bro: That's pretty much what I was going to say here: when you go to the gym, or any other sports where you can spot definition on leg muscles -  you as a guy will get the majority of compliments from ..yep, other guys. Because it is the guys who will notice this, and compare to their own, if so inclined. Women, at least many/most of them (always exceptions but hey), will not pay that much detailed attention to the definition of leg muscles, especially thighs. Surely enough, they will however compare their own leg shapes with other women's, but that's different. :D

Again, stating this quite generically speaking; women pay more attention to the upper body. And also the general proportions of everything. Overdone upper body with weeny legs looks out of proportion, hence no joy.

**edit, added: so agree with Caineghis.. that still baffles me to no end, how they miss that part. See above, :) **

It's also worth mentioning, that as a woman going to the gym, I'd always get more compliments on the development of the upper body musculature - from men!  I believe it has something to do with women usually not wanting to develop shapely arms and shoulders. So when those are finally spotted on a woman, even when lifting free weights and none of those finetuning mimsy machines, it is always a bit of a surprise, to the men.  They rarely comment on legs, no matter how well defined.

Now, gluteus maximus shapes are a whole another discussion altogether..  as we all know. I'd say checking out behinds and their shape is pretty much equally interesting for both genders. But(t) I won't even go there.

Yo! Yeah, I've been just taking a few months of break, I bought and a XOne, and I'm enjoying newer games, but I do miss ME3, probably next week I'll hop back on to X360 and maybe we can do a few runs! :)

...Jk. But what's CD?

Mmm. I'm spotting a cross-fitter slowly evolving to gym-rat, with that JK. Who needs cooldown anyway ?- just push a stimpack
Corollary to this is : High Intensity Interval Training =when there are two or more flights of stairs leading up to the gym.
I doubt you have a slapper - so you're heavy into dropsets?

I usually work my whole body. I don't like it when women has too many muscles on their upper body, like on their arms. It looks good if they have a little but not too much imo. But I work on the entire body, my thighs especially I can take 109 kilos on, I've worked a lot on those. Just going to the gym and being healthy makes me feel good.
