I did the same thing - it was beyond freezing at that time of the morning (late Sep) but entirely worth it, and like you I'd like to go back again and again, but it's not easy from the other side of the globe. In other news, it seems I can jump higher than you based on my earlier post.

Haven't made to NZ yet despite having grown up next door...There is some beautiful vistas there. I envy you.

I did the get up stupid early for a sunrise thing in my youth. While on a trip in India. Got up before sparrow-fart to hike up Tiger hill near Darjeeling. The view was spectacular. Got to see the sun glint off Everest. Unfortunately I've got no pictures handy. They're all on celluloid in a box. No fancy phones back then.....

Ooh I've been there! Here, this was what it looked like for me;

The sun was across the horizon and even though I was kinda far off, to see the rays fall atop the peaks and then slide down so that they seemed to be shimmering in the misty morning was amazing!

Stupid stupid stupid photovan took my picture because I drove too fast!! I was driving 110 km in a place where it was allowed to drive 90. I'll post the picture here when it arrives with the mail in 3 weeks! Why couldn't the cop just have pulled me over psychically? Why?? At least that way I would have gotten out of it easily! Stupid van!

But the car in front of me was driving so slowly! And besides.... tbh... I was kinda annoyed with a car who had just overhauled me and I wanted to show him back by racing him.. I have a bad habit of doing that. It bites me in the ass sometimes lol

It was probably doing 90. Which is by the rules. If you want to race - go to the race track. I do that, when I go motorcycling. 

 

Think of your car as a loaded weapon. You don't run around with a loaded weapon, if you do - you're asking for trouble.
