Mass Effect Chain Game Round 1

Game Script Version: 1.02
Chain Game Code Version: 1.0

A word from the creator:

For some time, I have been thinking of a way to complete Mass Effect in a special way that would grant a unique experience upon its completion. After spending some time thinking, I decided to develop a project that would allow players from across the world a unique experience to complete the game cooperatively, with each single player putting in towards the game completion and Shepard's development. Whether this concept will gain popularity or be deemed obsolete remains to be seen, but it would not hurt to try regardless.
That is why, I proudly present you: The Mass Effect Chain Game!

The Mass Effect Chain Game is a forum-based relay game for Mass Effect, a 2007 video game developed by BioWare. The goal of the Chain Game is to complete Mass Effect, having co-operatively developed a unique Shepard and shaped the galaxy by making decisions for him along the way.

The Mass Effect Chain Game is free to play for anyone who desires to participate. Every potential participant must have the PC Version of Mass Effect as well as connection to the internet to be able to play. Other than that, it is also recommended to have "Bring Down The Sky" and "Pinnacle Station" DLC packs installed (see details below).

All participants should take time to read the Rules or, at the very least, the Quick Start Guide before they start to play. The Rules are designed so that the game can progress smoothly and everyone can have an enjoyable experience of contributing into achieving the Chain Game's goal, which is completing Mass Effect.

New Players are always welcome to join the Chain Game. If you are willing to participate, simply look through the Quick Start Guide and read the complete set of Rules later. Eventually, the Chain Game Rules will have to be read though, otherwise you will spoil all of the fun for the other players and also for yourself.

Quick Start Guide

1. Take a turn by making a post in this topic. A simple "I'll take a turn", "I'll have a go" or "My turn" is enough to do so.
2. Download the Save File from the previous post.
3. Play the game, completing whatever amount of missions/assignments you want in whichever manner you desire. Your time limit is 3 hours (real-time).
4. After you have completed your turn, upload your Save File on any file sharing network. Be sure that it grants free download access to anybody without the need for registration.
5. Post the link to your Save File back in the topic within 3 Hours. To do so, edit your original post in an appropriate manner.
6. Below you will find a Copy and Paste Template of the Posting Format you should use upon your turn completion:

[b]Notes:[/b]
==Skip to the bottom to find the save file and begin playing right away!==

Mass Effect Chain Game Rules

1. DO NOT use any kind of cheats or modifications during your turn. They can sometimes cause serious damages to Save Files which will not only spoil the fun for yourself, but for the other players as well.
2. Take a turn by posting in this topic. A simple "I'll take a turn", "I'll have a go" or "My turn" is enough to take a turn.
3. Download the Save File from the previous post. In the Chain Game, the same Save File is used throughout the whole game from the beginning to the end.
4. After you have completed your turn, upload your Save File on any file sharing network, however, you need to ensure that it grants free download access to anybody without the need for registration.
5. During the turn the player can do any available missions or assignments, converse with any character in any manner, survey and/or explore planets, buy and sell items in stores, invest talent points in Shepard and his squadmates, play quasar etc. There are, however, some limits as to the order the missions/assignments should be completed. See the Supplement to the Rules below.
6. The Two Turns Wait Rule: Wait until two other players have completed their turns before taking your turn again.
7. The Three Hour Limit Rule: The time limit to complete the turn is three hours. The timer starts when the player has made a post indicating that he/she has taken a turn, and the player's deadline is defined by the time of his/her post. If 3 hours pass and the player does not post back, his/her turn is declared "Invalid" and anyone else can take a turn.
8. The Four Hours Timer Rule: If four or more hours pass since the last (valid) turn was completed, then the Two Turns Wait Rule is no longer in effect and anyone can take a turn - even if it is the player who completed the turn before that.
9. Any player can willingly forfeit. To do so, everything needed is to edit the original post and write a corresponding text. The forfeiter should skip at least one next turn or wait until the Two Turns Wait Rule is no longer in effect before he/she can take a turn again. Note that the forfeited turn does not count towards the Two Turns Wait Rule sequence nor does it cancel its effect. A forfeited turn does not affect the Four Hours Timer Rule as well, meaning that the Two Turns Wait Rule loses its effect 4 hours after the last valid turn is completed. The same applies to players whose turn was declared "invalid".
10. In the event of two players taking a turn at the same time, the one who posted earlier has the turn.
11. Mission strategies and decisions are solely up to the Player - just refrain from using any kind of cheats or modifications during your turn.
12. It is highly essential not to trash this topic with unnecessary comments and replies. If you have something to say about the Chain Game, and it is not related to taking a turn itself, post in the Chain Game Lounge.
13. If you witness a violation of any of the Chain Game Rules, do not hesitate to report the violation in a Personal Message to the Chain Game Chief. Noticing a violation at an early stage will help immeasurably in avoiding consequences of violations in the future and as a result, will leave the Chain Game running smoothly.

Suggestions
1. Use every opportunity to maximise experience in order to achieve higher levels more quickly and efficiently. See the "Maximising Experience" guideline below.
2. If you have a game crash problem on your system or you are uncertain of your success, it is advised that you save multiple times when completing a turn, so you won't be forced to lose significant progress as a result. The final decision in this matter is left to the player himself though. Regardless, it is highly recommended to turn the Autosave feature on, as a failsafe.
3. It is recommended that the Players try to save the game with full medi-gel. If some medi-gel had to be used, take time to visit the Normandy's med-bay or Dr. Michel, or resupply from other sources (unless pressed for time). Note that after purchasing medi-gel upgrades, medi-gel will have to be "re-replenished" manually.
4. Where possible, please try and ensure that the game is saved on the Normandy or on a major planet where there are available missions/assignments for the convenience of the next player.
5. To reduce the effect of environmental hazards and afford a greater freedom of movement, ensure that there is at least one piece of Devlon Industries armor in the inventory that can be equipped by Shepard and/or a party member. This will be useful in totally negating environmental hazards on Noveria, Xawin, Nonuel, Solcrum, Sharjila and Eletania and expanding the time spent on foot on Metgos and Mavigon.

Supplement To The Rules
This Supplement to the Rules is designed to discuss some of the technical issues of the Chain Game's rules and of Mass Effect in whole.

I. Abuse of the Chain Game Method
Players should understand the basic ethics of the Chain Game. One should take a turn if and only if the previous player has completed his/her turn and posted the new save. That's the basic idea of the chain; a new link can only be attached if the previous one is bound.

II. "Respect is Everything"
All players should respect each other, no matter what their gender, age, nationality, sexuality, political views or religious views are. New players are to be welcomed warmly, and are not to be harassed if they violated any of the Chain Game's rules - everyone has his first time, and everyone has a chance for mistake. The Chain Game Chief and the Players are to be treated equally. The Chain Game's rules apply to everyone playing - including the Chief himself.
Anybody who violates the Chain Game Rules, spams in the Chain Game Topic or doesn't show Respect for the Chain Game Players will be dealt with by the Chain Game Chief and will result in a temporary or permanent exclusion from the Mass Effect Chain Game in which during that time, no turns that the player makes will be deemed valid, even if they respond to every single rule of the Chain Game.
Players that do not respect the punishments that they have been given and continue to post in violation of the Chain Game Rules will be dealt with personally by the Forums Staff. Other players are asked not to interfere or respond to the offending player if they continue to post in violation and instead are asked to send a message to the Chain Game Chief or report them to the board moderators or administrators.

III. Decisions
Since Mass Effect is an RPG game, with lots of decisions to consider, every player will have to make some as he/she completes the turn. Since every player has his/her personal approach to Shepard, and since no preliminary plot course is charted beforehand, the players are free to make any choices they deem necessary. Whatever the result, all the other players should respect each others' choices, even if it conflicts with the ones some usually make when playing the game themselves.
It should be noted, however, that increasing both Paragon and Renegade score is recommended, so that more benefits can be reaped during the game.

IV. "Crucial Choices"
The Crucial Choices are choices that affect the course of the whole Trilogy (now that it exists). They are:
- Fate of the Rachni Queen
- Wrex's fate
- Kaidan or Ashley
- Council's fate
- Human Councillor

It is solely up to the player how to act when these choices are presented. Whatever the decision, other players will have to respect the choice taken by the player.
NOTE: the "Human Councillor" choice is not recorded in a Mass Effect save, so it really does not matter who to choose.

V. "Canon choices"
According to Mass Effect 2 (if started without an import), the following choices are considered "canon"
- Abandoned the Council
- Chose Udina
- Rescued Ashley
- Ashley Killed Wrex
- Killed the Rachni Queen
- No romance
- Paragon path followed

However, this DOES NOT mean that these choices must be taken by the players as they come across them. After all, we are creating our own Shepard, with his unique story to tell.

VI. Talent points and character upgrades
The way talent points are distributed for both Shepard and his squadmates are solely up to the player to decide. Players who have doubts about how to dispense earned talent points may leave the decision for the next players.
It is worth noting, however, that increasing the Charm and Intimidate talents should take priority so that more opportunities to gain Paragon and Renegade points are made available, while at the same time keeping in mind that up to 4 points in both skills can be received for free (1 for completing "Citadel: Expose Saren", 3 for increasing Paragon/Renegade scores).
It is also recommended to develop both offensive and defensive skills at least for Shepard, so that no vulnerabilities will remain. Using information mentioned in the Talent Points guideline below, this topic may require further discussion in the Chain Game Lounge.

VII. High Priority assignments
In Mass Effect there are several assignments that become unavailable or impossible to complete after the "Detention on Citadel" portion of "Race Against Time" mission is completed. If these missions were not acquired and/or completed up to the point of passing that specific mission, they will remain as incomplete entries in the journal if they have been accepted. Should these assignments be accepted, it is highly recommended to accomplish them before the fourth "plot world" mission is complete.

Below you can find a complete list of the High Priority assignments, arranged in alphabetical order:
"Asari Diplomacy"
"Citadel: Asari Consort"
"Citadel: Doctor Michel"
"Citadel: Family Matter"
"Citadel: Garrus" [if only Wrex was recruited during "Citadel: Expose Saren"]
"Citadel: Homecoming"
"Citadel: I Remember Me" [Colonist background]
"Citadel: Jahleed's Fears"
"Citadel: Negotiator's Request"
"Citadel: Old Friends" [Earthborn background]
"Citadel: Old, Unhappy, Far-Off Things" [Spacer background]
"Citadel: Our Own Worst Enemy"
"Citadel: Planting a Bug"
"Citadel: Presidium Prophet"
"Citadel: Reporter's Request"
"Citadel: Rita's Sister"
"Citadel: Scan the Keepers"
"Citadel: Schells the Gambler"
"Citadel: Signal Tracking"
"Citadel: The Fan"
"Citadel: The Fourth Estate"
"Citadel: Xeltan's Complaint"
"UNC: Hostile Takeover" ("A Person Of Interest") [need to accept quest from Helena Blake only]
"UNC: Missing Marines"
"UNC: Privateers" ("Missing Person")

VIII. Zhu's Hope assignments
Assignments given by Zhu's Hope colonists should be done before completing "Feros: The Thorian". Fain Dan's assignment, "Geth In The Tunnels", should be completed regardless of the ultimate decision concerning the colony, as he commits suicide. It is still possible to deal with other assignments after killing the Thorian, provided the colony has been saved. However, if the colonists giving out their respective tasks have been killed (Davin Reynolds, Marcha Doyle, May O'Connell), regardless of whether the colony was saved in the end, those assignments will be marked as completed, yet no morality points or monetary rewards will be offered upon completion. That is why the following assignments are recommended to be completed before heading for ExoGeni building (especially in case the fate of the colony is left in the hands of other players):
"Feros: Geth In The Tunnels" [must complete regardless of the colony's ultimate fate]
"Feros: Power Cells" [must complete if the colony is chosen to be destroyed]
"Feros: Varren Meat" [must complete if the colony is chosen to be destroyed]
"Feros: Water Restoration" [must complete if the colony is chosen to be destroyed]

NOTE: If any of those assignments were missed, then completing the respective tasks in the tunnels after completing "Feros: The Thorian" (destroying the transmitter, turning on the water main, killing the varren, extracting the power cells) will add the assignments into the journal. If the colony was destroyed, they will automatically be marked as "complete". If the colony was saved, only the "Feros: Geth In The Tunnels" and the assignments whose givers were killed will be marked as "complete". Others can still be completed by taking to the respective colonists to claim morality and experience rewards.

IX. Other Things to Keep in Mind

1. Planet Surveys/Explorations
Feel free to do any amount of these during your turn. These can be either done separately or can be accompanied by any number of missions or assignments. It is highly recommended to write down what exactly has been surveyed/explored in the 'Notes' section, so that other players would not be confused. While orbital survey should only hold mention of which planets/objects have been surveyed (mentioning what has been recovered is optional), ground survey should be more detailed. This includes places of interest, mineral deposits, crashed probes, prothean data discs, asari writings, turian insignias, salarian ID tags, League of One medallions and Thresher Maws. However, if the planet was fully explored, then it will be more than enough just to mention which planet this was. In both cases, mentioning experience, monetary rewards and loot recovered is not necessary.
Remember: The 3-hour limit still applies.

2. Manufacturer licenses, medi-gel and grenade upgrades
Although not a mission or an assignment per se, it is worth mentioning any licenses obtained during the turn in the 'Notes' section, so that other players will not be looking for them in vain. Mentioning medi-gel and grenade upgrades is optional, as their total capacity can be easily confirmed from the 'Equipment' screen.

3. Romance
Players can pursue romantic relationships with both Ashley and Liara (when the latter becomes available). It should be noted that at a certain point only one romance will remain. The player who reached that point should notify the others of his/her decision, so that others may help advance the remaining romance, if necessary.

X. Late Edit
In a situation where a player completed a turn but forgot to mention something he/she did during his/her turn completion, this player is advised to edit that post. After that, the Original Edit Time line should be added at the bottom, showing the time when the turn was originally finished.
Note that mentioning the Time Zone is a must, so that other players won't get confused.

XI. Issues
There are several issues that have to be kept in mind as one plays the game.

1. Bring Down The Sky/Pinnacle Station
There may be some players who do not have these DLCs installed. That is why players are not recommended to save on Pinnacle Station or while the Normandy is located in Asgard system, and the "Bring Down The Sky" assignment is recommended to be completed in a single turn, as this may cause a game crash if the next player does not have these DLCs installed.

2. "Medal of Honor" achievement
The "Medal of Honor" achievement allows Shepard to advance to level 60. It is unknown whether the save game with Shepard being levels 51-60 will cause any issues if played on a profile without the game completed even a single time. That is why, if and when Shepard's level exceeds level 50, care should be taken by the players who have yet to complete the game their first time.

3. Ally achievements, "Completionist", "Power Gamer", "Extreme Power Gamer", "Tactician", "Dog Of War", "Geth Hunter", "Rich" achievements
Perks gained by these achievements are retained in the save game even if played on a profile with these achievements still locked.

4. Hardcore and Insanity
Playing the game on Hardcore or Insanity difficulty while on profile with locked "Medal of Honor" and "Distinguished Combat Medal" achievements respectfully will not cause any issues. The difficulty level will not be reverted to any available ones (Causal/Normal/Veteran + Hardcore). That way, by playing a save file on Hardcore difficulty level while on a "clean slate" profile, it is even possible to officially unlock the Insanity difficulty level while still having the Hardcore difficulty locked.

5. "Feros: Data Recovery"
If missed, the assignment can be acquired from Gavin Hossle after killing the Thorian. However, it will then be impossible to complete since the Prothean Skyway will be locked. Be sure to accomplish this assignment (or at least acquire the data) before facing the Thorian.

6. "UNC: Geth Incursions"
If Casbin was the second world visited and cleared of geth presence, then upon clearing any one of the two remaining planets the Grissom system will be unlocked, making it possible to land on Solcrum and finish the assignment. The remaining planet can be cleared out even after dealing with geth on Solcrum.

XII. Glitches
There has been a number of issues regarding the following glitches that happen within the game:

1. "Geth Hunter" overheat glitch
As soon as the "Geth Hunter" achievement is unlocked, players will encounter a glitch from time to time, in which the weapons will be stuck in "overheat" state after sustained firing. There is no way to avoid this glitch except from deleting the player's profile (removing all achievements as a result), so the only other thing that can be done is saving and reloading the game as soon as this issue appears. It is also unknown if this glitch is carried in a save or profile-specific.

2. Stuck in elevators on Noveria
Sometimes upon activating an elevator on Noveria, Shepard will be stuck, unable to move or perform any action. The only option will be to reload. It is therefore recommended to save each time before using an elevator on Noveria, so that valuable progress will have not been lost.

XIII. Exploits
The following loopholes found in the game can be used to the players' advantage during the playthrough.

1. "Noveria: Lorik Quinn"
After getting the evidence and talking to Parasini, Shepard gets the opportunity to convince Lorik to testify against Anoleis. This requires either 5 Charm or 5 Intimidate, granting 25 Paragon or 25 Renegade points accordingly. If successful, the process can be repeated again. Upon the next conversation with Lorik Quinn, Shepard has to ask him any question from the "Investigate" section, then return to the main questions - and the Charm and Intimidate options will be available again.
This exploit is useful for maximising both Paragon and Renegade score, which, in turn, makes both "UNC: Besieged Base" and "UNC: Negotiation" available to complete in the same playthrough.
That is why all players are recommended to invest at least 2 or 3 Talent Points to Charm and Intimidate talents early in the game (since 1 point will be granted by reaching
34 Paragon or Renegade score, and 1 will be awarded after completing "Citadel: Expose Saren").
If it happens that Shepard lacks sufficient Charm or Intimidate score upon the conversation with Lorik Quinn, the players might as well postpone the mission until it becomes available to accomplish.
NOTE: If access to the garage has been granted by subverting the "Noveria: Smuggling" assignment (as in, turning the contraband in to Anoleis), "Noveria: Lorik Quinn" can be completed even after completing "Noveria: Matriarch Benezia". This is a useful option to consider if players are willing to play the Noveria missions and Shepard lacks 5 Charm and/or Intimidate at that moment.

2. "Find Liara T'Soni"
After speaking with Liara for the first time (and possibly dealing with the geth one level below) but before activating the mining laser, saving and reloading the game will each time grant a certain amount of experience (depending on your level and unlocked achievements).
Since the maximum level which can be gained during a single playthrough is 57 (possibly 58, using the exploit below), using this exploit will allow to reach level 60 in one playthrough.
NOTE: It is advised to perform this exploit when Shepard is of a higher level, since the experience granted will be higher. That is why, for these purposes, Therum should be postponed until later, completing both Feros and Noveria first, as well as all of the assignments available, in order to maximise experience before the mission.
Also take note that if Liara is to be considered a romance option in the playthrough, Therum has to me completed as the third "plot world" at the latest, otherwise it will be impossible to talk with her enough times to "lock in" on her.

3. "Race Against Time: Final Battle"
As Shepard fights his way to the Citadel Control, he will come across a platform with three turrets and a geth dropship arriving. The dropship will have to be destroyed by activating the turrets. Otherwise it will be dropping a significant amount of geth platforms (if not infinite). Use this opportunity to maximise your experience, money, as well as gain significant loot, which can be equipped or converted into omni-gel.

Posting Format
The following is a Posting Format that is to be used by all players when they have finished their turn in the Chain Game. The Posting Format is to be edited into the players turn post and must be completely filled in.

Link: The Link to the Uploaded Save File from your turn.
Notes: Details about what has been accomplished in the turn. The details should include the following:
- Missions/Assignments/Surveys/Explorations etc completed, Thresher Maws defeated
- Crucial choices as well as any other decisions and/or significant Paragon/Renegade shifts
- New levels earned and talent points spent
- Romance initiated/broken off
- New party members acquired

A simple "I'll take a turn", "I'll have a go" or "My turn" is enough to take a turn. Players can be creative about what they write as long as everyone understands what they really mean. However, you need to make sure that you use this Posting Format for completed turns.

Below you will find a template that you can copy and paste to spare you the effort. Feel free to change the colors to your liking. You are also free to add any other BBCode tags you feel necessary to add:

Guidelines
This section provides useful information that can be helpful to some players.

I. Maximising Experience
This guide has some useful tips on how to maximise experience during a single playthrough in order to obtain higher levels faster and more efficiently. This guideline does not include exploits to reach level 60 in one playthrough.
1. Always kill on foot. Killing enemies in Mako grants only 40% of experience that can be gained by killing on foot. It is possible to use the Mako's minigun or cannon to soften up the enemies, then finish them on foot.
2. Complete non-combat missions and assignments first to boost your level.
3. Completing surveys/explorations on higher levels will grant you more experience.
4. Taking on Thresher Maws (as well as any other enemies) will grant you more experience if you are of a higher level. The same refers to scanning the keepers ("Citadel: Scan The Keepers")
5. Obtain Codex entries on higher levels to gain more experience.
6. Never miss the opportunity to hack or decrypt something, it always grants bonus experience, even when omni-gel is used. To that end, if Shepard does not have Decryption and/or Electronics talents, consider bringing squadmates who possess them (Kaidan, Liara, Garrus, Tali). In addition, prioritising investment of Talent Points into developing Decryption and Electronics talents at least until "Master Sabotage" and "Master Overload" talents will have been unlocked respectfully is a prudent course.
7. "UNC: Hostile Takeover" - earn bonus experience by killing Helena Blake and her accomplices. Also decrypt the console in C-Sec office first to obtain the assignment and some bonus experience.
8. "UNC: Major Kyle" - earn bonus experience by killing all biotics in both compounds. Killing Major Kyle is optional. Also, decrypt the console in either Executor Pallin's office on Citadel, Lorik Quinn's office on Noveria or ExoGeni VI terminal on Feros to earn bonus experience.
9. "UNC: Distress Call" - earn bonus experience by decrypting a console in Ambassador Udina's office.
10. "UNC: Dead Scientists" - Much more experience is rewarded if both Toombs and Wayne are convinced to testify (requires 10 Charm). Also, earn bonus experience by decrypting a terminal in Port Hanshan's mezzanine on the upper floor.
11. "UNC: Colony Of The Dead" - earn bonus experience by decrypting the console in ExoGeni building on Feros
12. "UNC: ExoGeni facility" - earn bonus experience by decrypting an ExoGeni terminal in ExoGeni building on Feros
13. "UNC: Geth Incursions" - earn bonus experience by decrypting a geth console either in ExoGeni building on Feros or in Saren's base on Virmire.
14. "UNC: Espionage Probe" - earn bonus experience by decrypting a terminal in Borealis (located in Zhu's Hope colony on Feros)
15. "Asari Diplomacy" - earn bonus experience by decrypting a terminal in Peak 15's mess hall. This requires reaching Peak 15 before completing any other "plot world" mission.
16. "UNC: Rogue VI" - destroy all the drones in all three bunkers before destroying any conduits. Then, upon entering the third bunker in order to destroy the conduits, more drones will spawn.

II. Galaxy Map guide
After completing "Citadel: Expose Saren" and obtaining the Normandy, not all clusters at systems will be initially available on the Galaxy Map. To unlock some, missions or assignments have to be completed. The detailed list is below.
- Serpent Nebula/Widow/Citadel - NOT available after "Detention on Citadel" portion of "Race Against Time" mission
- Styx Theta cluster - complete "Noveria: Matriarch Benezia"
- Maroon Sea cluster - complete "Feros: The Thorian"
- Sentry Omega cluster - complete two "plot world" missions
- Pangaea Expanse - escape the Citadel during "Race Against Time" mission
- Local Cluster/Sol system - receive the "UNC: Rogue VI" assignment from Admiral Hackett upon reaching level 20
- Hades Gamma/Cacus system - attain either 255 Paragon or 255 Renegade points total
- Hades Gamma/Plutus system - attain either 255 Paragon or 255 Renegade points total
- Hades Gamma/Dis system - acquire assignment from Helena Blake on the Citadel ("UNC: Hostile Takeover")
- Gemini Sigma/Han system - acquire assignment from Helena Blake on the Citadel ("UNC: Hostile Takeover")
- Horse Head Nebula/Fortuna system - kill the crime lords on both Klensal and Mavigon ("UNC: Hostile Takeover")
- Voyager Cluster/Yangtze system - receive the "UNC: Cerberus" assignment from Admiral Kahoku after completing "UNC: Missing Marines"
- Voyager Cluster/Columbia system - complete "UNC: Cerberus"
- Argos Rho/Gorgon system - save Marie Durand on Nepmos ("UNC: Listening Post Alpha") and clear out Listening Post Theta on Altahe ("UNC: Listening Post Theta")
- Armstrong Nebula/Grissom system - clear out other geth outposts in the cluster ("UNC: Geth Incursions"; see the "Issues" section of the Supplement for further details)
- Kepler Verge/Herschel system - recruit Garrus and talk to him several times on the Normandy until he tells about Dr. Saleon, then agree to help him (accept "Garrus: Dr. Saleon" assignment)
- Exodus Cluster/Asgard system - install "Bring Down The Sky" DLC
- Argos Rho/Phoenix/Pinnacle Station - install "Pinnacle Station" DLC
- Argos Rho/Phoenix/Intai'Sei - install "Pinnacle Station" DLC

V. Manufacturers Licenses, Medi-gel and Grenade upgrades
This guideline shows the availability and location of the aforementioned items. Players are highly recommended to expand their medi-gel capacity, since it can be useful during missions, as well as purchase Devlon Industries and Elkoss Combine licenses (the former allows purchase of "hazard-resistant" armors, and the latter is required to successfully complete "Citadel: Medi-Gel Sabotage" in Mass Effect 3).
- Ariake Technologies - Level 18; C-Sec requisitions officer, Commander Rentola (if Kirrahe was saved during "Virmire: Assist Kirrahe's Team" and "Virmire: Assault")
- Armali Council - Level 18; Commander Rentola; also awarded for using Charm or Intimidate options during the final conversation in "Asari Diplomacy" assignment (requires 3 Charm or 4 Intimidate).

VI. The Trilogy playthrough
If a playthrough of Mass Effect is to be considered to be imported to Mass Effect 2, and then Mass Effect 3, then in order to attain the highest possible war assets in Mass Effect 3 it is required to perform the following actions in Mass Effect:
- Recruit Wrex during "Citadel: Wrex"
- Rescue the Rachni Queen during "Noveria: Matriarch Benezia"
- Save the colony on Feros during "Feros: The Thorian"
- Spare Shiala during "Feros: The Thorian"
- Talk down Wrex during "Virmire: Wrex and the Genophage" (requires either 8 Charm/8 Intimidate or completing "Wrex: Family Armor") [only if Wrex was recruited prior to "Virmire: Assault"]
- Rescue Kirrahe (requires at least destroying the geth flyers during "Virmire: Assisting Kirrahe's Team"; also requires saving the squad member at the AA tower during "Virmire: Assault")
- Complete "Citadel: The Fan", intimidating Conrad in the end (requires 2 Intimidate)
- Complete "Citadel: Rita's Sister"
- Complete "Feros: Data Recovery"
- Complete "UNC: Asari Writings"
- Purchase the Elkoss Combine license
- Abandon the Council during "Race Against Time: Final Battle"

- Selected default character (John Shepard, Soldier, Earthborn, Sole Survivor)
- Casual difficulty selected
- Chose the Paragon option during the first conversation (thus, score total is 7 Paragon and 15 Renegade)

Good luck!

P.S. If the save file is not displayed in its single career upon downloading it in the Mass Effect folder, just click the "Select All Careers" button, you will find it there.

This could be a lot of fun, and I'd like to take part.  I'm currently 18 hours into a playthrough, but I'd happily pause that to do my stint in this. I currently have MEUITM and 'faster elavators' installed so it's probably best I finish my playthrough first, then restore my game to stock.  I have both DLCs and all achievements.

Thanks for sorting this, looks like it could be great fun.  It might be worth getting people to do screens too :D

May I ask why distributing talent points is not permitted?  Is it just to keep it consistent for a play style?  Who will administer talent points?

Edit: Misunderstood. I thought you were asking people not to spend TPs as they were awarded.
