Partially asking this because of the combat pets thread, but in heading to Andromeda, one would sort of assume that the races heading there would be self-sufficient, at least for a time. The quarians and Alliance have agriculture ships so that covers crops and plants but nothing's ever mentioned for animals for meat and protein.

 

As a result, I'm sort of wondering what other species would be brought along to Andromeda based on their ability to help sustain a population... or whatever various reasons. Like maybe fish since they reproduce relatively quickly, can be farmed and contain an abundance of nutrients. I can see varren being used since they have some combat value and I don't think most species aside from krogan would eat them...? For combat though, there was also the Kakliosaur cloning going on in ME3 but not sure when the journey to Andromeda would take place making them invalid despite how they were able to handle krogan terrain.

If we are going by what is smart, then no animals. Maybe as dna-sample, but not living. Most for the same reason that Quarians don't have them, take up space and the ratio of food vs resources are not good enough.

 

but since common sense is not very important, I want rachni, can be used as food AND cannon fodder.

Gosh people we already have animals. We have the suit rats, the tentacle heads, the filthy Krogans, and the overgrown lizards what more do you need? Also we're getting some new ones that humanity will surely conquer for the continued survival of our species. There are animals everywhere.

Get your filthy beast, at least you're using him in the correct way. War is the only thing those mongrels understand anyway. I actually have to applaud the salarians and turians when creating and deploying the genophage, I'm glad they atleast understood the brutal nature of those primitive war dogs. But alas, they should have eradicated them all after the rachni war and ended them there.

Illusive man strayed from his own ideals, he was naive. He trusted alien tech; implanting himself and his human soldiers with reaper tech, he got what he deserved. I only respect what the man preached.
