I'm new to static cameras, and what I'm trying to do, originally, was when an npc is talking, at a specific point, it'll point the players camera to something.

Example;

NPC: "Tree stumps can be found all around the world" - Camera points to a tree stump

I placed a static camera and done all the properties/conversation settings, but it's just not working to how I want. The camera is more of a pin point, looking at the player. So the camera starts at the static camera and goes from there.

Below is how I originally set it up.

Is it possible to make the camera/screen, during a conversation, point to what you want it to look at?

My last resort is to use pictures, but they would be still, and not "moving", which ruins the whole point (i.e. if it's night time, the picture would be showing day time).

Yes, the static cameras are there for the purpose you're trying to use them for.  But firstly, did you preview the view from the camera using the Preview panel in the camera's properties, to see what the player should see at that point?

Also please describe the steps you used to set up the camera and its related conversation.

Tag is c1_stump

Preview is correct, but in-game, the camera moves to where the static camera is, but the angle is looking towards the PC.

If the preview is correct, then I assume the settings are wrong. But what's wrong?

Are you trying to make the camera actually rotate around from the previous position, turning to point at the stump?  That would be beyond my knowledge, but if you just want the camera to cut from the usual character focused ones to look at the closeup of the stump for certain character lines, then cut back to the characters, then change the MovementType to "none".

I wonder if there were any cutscenes in the official campaigns where the camera moved? All I can recall are static shots.

I know you can make it so the camera moves when the player does (tracking/panning etc).

I would also like to know this :P but I highly doubt it.

I don't recall in the OC, but there's a nice tracking camera in the opening of Heist at the Neverwinter Lights Casino, which was done by attaching the camera to a creature.  It moves forward, and turns left and right to look down side streets before continuing on.

How do you attach a camera to a creature? That's a very clever trick.

I couldn't tell you; I'd have to point you to the Heist at the Neverwinter Lights Casino for an example.

I forget how to make the camera track a creature, but for sure it is possible (is there a Track option somewhere?). I had also done things like have it track an invisible creature so that it showed a sliding pan of some other thing (like terrain or whatever).

You can make an creature invisible and make it walk to a waypoint. Have the camera follow it and you have a nice cinematic. I use this technique for introducing cities. To give a nice panoramic view without the camera centering on anything. Well, it does center somewhere but it's not visible that it is actually a rat moving :D .

Edit: Ops, for some reason _Knightmare_'s post showed after I posted and I said the same thing :D.
