Now I wouldn't necessarily let a minor play these games but I would not call the ME games anything close to porn, softcore or otherwise.  I am  reminded of that stupid lady that went of Fox news years ago claiming that ME 1 was some sort of interactive porn game.

Kinky comedian.

I'm soooooo tired of my username now. Gonna change it at the very first opportunity.

Anyway, I am not talking about sex (not that Aria isn't hot but she's a lesbian so... you know). I just want to rescue those sex workers from slavery.

Um doesn't that happen if you choose to play as a female or am I missing something?

It's true it does, I was exaggerating slightly.

They should remove all the sexual stuff from games, really.

And why, you'll ask? Well, because all I want from a game is an engaging interactive plot and fun gameplay, not porn.

sexual stuff = softcore porn.

cools. no wonder there's "comedian" in your name.

I hope Bioware would do that as well would be a nice gesture from them and to all the female players that are out there including me. And more are coming every day and that's a good thing because maybe some day we will be in the majority instead of the minority.

whatever happened to equality? isnt that how it started?

Why does everyone think Feminism is the equivalent to mysoginism???????? It ****** isn't.

see above. =| if the roles are solely reversed, there's no difference at all.

There is a quest where Shepard can help an asari dancer who is being harassed by a turian. The turian is offering her money for sex and getting increasingly forceful about it.

The following line is her refusing his advances and making it clear she is a dancer only and not a prostitute; "Back off, (explicit)! I'm a dancer, not a hooker!"

The following line implies that the kind of harassment were against the rules and that security would usually have done something about the offender; "Thanks for that. Security was asleep."

I do not recall seeing any indication of sexual slavery on Omega.

It is probably best the thread returns to the intended topic least it be derailed by this discussion.

You are aware, of course, that there were human females on the box for Mass Effect 1 (Ashley) and 2 (Miranda) both? Mass Effect 3 had two boxes, with one male and one female (and no one else)  I think what the OP is really trying to say is how distasteful it is to have white men on boxes.

If we're really going to have that argument, shouldn't actual arguments be made?

Feminism is an extremist group who want equality when it only favors one side, which is theirs, and to achieve that, this spoiled group fabric lies that eventually get shut down by experts in the field, if that ain't enough, feminism wants to dictate how a woman should live, and if she doesn't do that, she's a traitor to the fictional patriarchy. Feminism also promotes an unhealthy way of life by saying that you need not to worry about what you eat or weight, because that's who you are, and if you have serious health problems, at least you died happy. Not only that, but feminists worry about men opening the doors to them, cat calling, or simply talking to them while there's women at the Arab world that die by countless rocks that are threw at them, and what do these feminists do about it? Nothing. They go outside with their pointless parades to talk about this fictional rape culture or complain about sexualization by undressing in front of the whole city.

Let's not all forget the air conditioner scandal, or that feminists are voting for Hillary for the simple fact that she's a woman, a corrupted one.

Oh, feminism is really a disease. It goes nowhere, and only promote the distance between two genders when they should be united, but that won't happen with masterpieces like the #KillAllMen one.

Here is what I read the opening post as saying;

ui876will was specifically talking about the female protagonist so neither Ashley nor Miranda would qualify seeing as they are not PCs.

ui876will also said in the opening post that male Shepard was the cover boy 80% of the time in Mass Effect 3, not 100%.

ui876will thought it would be a nice change to have more gender diversity in the promotional material and videos.

So you're serious huh. Let me tell you something. People like you are a disease. Feminism promotes equality with gender. Many women don't make as much as a man does. Even actresses. The only line of work we're women make more than men is stripping and porn. That's doesn't sit right with me. So chill out and keep your silly jokes to yourself.

Where are your arguments? This kind of response is common by those who can't stand the truth, which is the behavior of the group you wanted to talk about.

Truth? You can't handle the truth which is pretty clear. Do you actually believe women should be paid less than a man? Everyone grab the popcorn.

For the record, hell yeah - female PC should totally be often featured in the marketing, I don't see the issue here.

I'm going with choice "C" - ui876will made this thread with a certain goal in mind, and that goal was met fully, beautifully, and entirely predictably.

The fact that Ashley and Miranda are on the box is quite relevant to the statement in question. Having two women on the box would look weird, and might give the impression of a different sort of game. Plus, if there is already one woman, adding a second doesn't really go anything with the representation.

And of course, you ignore the disdain the OP has for "generic white dudes." Representation, as stupid as it is to shoot for, was there and it didn't matter. I think they need to grow up.
