I've just been dumping calpol down her throat a few minutes ago; she's burning up as she is teething and it looks like another sleepless night ahead. Still, how can I be annoyed at this :P

Good, everyone else has had to keep drinking to follow you guys' conversation.

Why would you, tho ? Didn't mean to be an oppressor to anyone.

1) No they don't, not any more here:
https://www.gov.uk/s...l-leave-and-pay
2) Have you actually ever looked after a newborn for a period of time? I was quite relieved to go back to work and leave her to it, it's ****** tough and exhausting. To say it is like a holiday is possibly one of the most stupid thing I have read on here for a long time, and that is saying something.

I'm sorry, stats don't lie. Wow, wow. Who said it was a holiday? Calm your bras down for shock's sake.

Of course, whether you want a male, a female, a symbol, or a sandwich on the cover art, there is a simple solution, if you're not happy with the cover art, go onto the 'net, find some artwork that you do like, print it off & use it.

I do that with a lot of games I get in steelbook as I don't like having to always bend the disc to get the game out, I'm constantly worried I'm going to break it, so I bought a load of game cases off Amazon & do my own covers that way, solves the problem of what you want as cover art.

Just my opinion.

Yes - equal maternity / paternity rights certainly don't lie, which completely undermines your point. And I'm not sure why I would be wearing a bra.

No, it doesn't. There's no hidden illuminati agenda against women here.

Why wouldn't you?

I'm not saying there is, am I. I am saying that women do not get better maternity rights than men in the UK anymore, it is shared. Your point was that somehow men are losing out in some way (personally I'd have it so both parents can taken a year off, like they do in Scandinavia). Your point has no basis.

What exactly would I use a bra for? Pretend headphones?

Disgusting little larvae...

Ahem. The cover art? Who cares? Didn't really like it in any of the previous games anyway. Just a bunch of people with a two thousand yard stare like they've got constipation  :P

I don't think there's any thread here that's not going places. I'm going to be so glad when EA Play arrives.

Yeah =P

We're going to see so many complaint threads over every little thing people don't like about the new info, and of course plenty of blaming it on the MP mode, "dumbing down" for casuals, or consoles.

I'm gonna need a lot more popcorn.

As long as you maintain some perspective. It'll be better on Sunday...because folks will have something concrete to talk about. So we'll still have threads that end up like trainwrecks, but at least it will be based on some information about the current game.

And this, this right here is why I want BioWare just to go with armor or a symbol or something like that for most of the static art. I've read so many misunderstandings about feminism, gaming statistics and general bickering that it's gotten absurd. Well, not as absurd as it could get, but you know what I mean.

For the trailers, I would like ladies to get a least two and same with the men. If the male PC has one more trailer than a female PC, then whoopity-do. Besides, I think there is too much of a focus on the official trailers and such. What they show at E3 and other conventions matters too. Most of the convention footage of DA:I was featuring a female quizzy, and that's something I'd like to see more of versus the official trailers or posters.

I just know they could put a lady Krogan dancing with a Pjyjak and Javik taking pictures as the cover/poster art and I'm still unlikely to pre-order it. I'm confident I'll enjoy the game, so it isn't that. It's that the DA:I patch cycle drove me nuts and I don't want go through that again. If they have anything worth it in the Collector's Ed, I might consider it. Even then, I wouldn't touch the game for at least 3 months so the first few patches can get out the door.

I don't know. It's gonna hard to top the Dragon Age Love Interest Riot of 2014. They had announced some of the LIs and they hadn't announced sexualities yet. It was pretty ugly and lasted for months. Some folks were so fed up with the fighting (including me) that we turned a long running Romance thread into about 5 pages of fish jokes. Nothing but fish puns and fish jokes for a few pages.

The DALIR was nothing compared to the Mass Effect Ending Wars of 2012. Never forget.

Actually, no. My point is that it has been proved men usually tend to work more, and that women has rights they don't, yet you don't see us complaining about that. If that doesn't apply to where you live, then good, it's fair, but that ain't everywhere.

I don't know. You tell me.

Glad I wasn't around when that happened.

Imagine if the ME team confirmed only a few of the names (poor Josie didn't have a known name until about three months before the game landed) and a couple of the LIs. Now imagine if they didn't announce the sexualities of those LIs for about 5 months or so. Add in the BSN's...dedicated sense of passion and you can see how that ended up going horribly wrong. I think things like that are why the ME is staying so tight lipped. Even though some folks don't like it, I'd rather have big information dumps rather than being drip fed.

Back on topic, some folks in here might remember that I posted in the Lady Inquisitor Ad thread back in 2014. I was very passionate about speaking up on the subject. I'm mellower now because I felt that BioWare listened to the requests. They put a gender-neutral PC on the cover, they showed the female quizzy a lot at conventions and even little things like the benchmark test on the PC version of the game. That's why I'm not as futzed about it. Also, things in gaming have gotten better over the last couple of years for the ladies.

Shoot, I remember when I started WoW in 2005. My own mother and father (who were in a raiding guild at the time) warned me about not revealing my gender in general chat due to possible harassment. No joke; I had one guildie that was e-stalked by someone to the point where she had to switch servers and get a name change. Her mic was "broken" most of the time. I'd call it an exaggeration if I hadn't been there. However, by 2010, that wasn't really as big of an issue anymore. I was the co-GM of a raiding guild and I only got harassed once in that 6 months.

I've watched the same thing with non MMOs. There are more lady protagonists and they are getting on the cover (Remember Me, Overwatch, ect) so the industry is changing. Before anyone mentions online play, remember that many of these kids (or manchild) that live to talk crap aren't necessarily sexist. They are just trying to say whatever they can to get under your skin. I think it's actually pretty equal in that regard. Whether it be "your mom" or "pff, girls can't play," or whatever, it's the same crap.

Anyway, there is a lot of the same look for the male player characters, but for me it isn't that they are men. It's that they are very similar looking men and hasn't been much variety. BF4 is a great start, but I'd like to see more men that aren't the typical "Video Game Male Hero" look. I'd also like to see more women that aren't 36/24/36 with C cups. That also has gotten better; I'm seeing a lot more female characters of various builds and not all of them are wearing makeup. I wouldn't be the least be surprised if one of the first images of gameplay with the player character as a woman. If not, I'd more interested in the gameplay and the music anyhow.
