I'll confess that I'd rather they avoid any "badass" poses, which is actually one of the reasons why I wouldn't want the protagonist at the forefront. To me that screams Generic Action Hero in Generic Action Franchise. I'd rather have a more "quiet," awesome scene. In the literal meaning of the word awesome.

But truth be told, I don't find covers to be terribly important, so even if I don't end up liking it it won't be a big deal.

I hear ya. Another idea I had was having a character with their back to the audience, staring at an alien landscape. When it comes to covers, not a big deal to me either. How they treat the female character in the months to come with conventions and the like means a little more. <shrug>

It's okay. As Scribbles fans we knew that perfection would take time, and they were merely saving the best for last.  B)

Anyone else have a pang of nostalgia for the days of Scribbles, Dramatic Hands Moustache Guy, and so forth?

<raises hand> Me. Being on the forums and watching the posters invent the nicknames of the companions was surprisingly fun.

"Scribblers" was best group name, because of Axel Oxenstierna.

I remember when you made that post. :D

The best part was when the devs agreed that would have made a great nickname for Varric to give her, but they had already recorded "Ruffles" instead.

Making that nickname is still probably my proudest moment in my time as a Bioware fan. It was so cool seeing the devs refer to her as Scribbles for months and love it so until her actual name was revealed. ^_^

Games with female protagonists on the cover just don't sell the same as the prototypical short haired stubbly male ones do.

It's like the new DOOM cover, they play it safe while hiding what should of been the real cover on the flip side.

I keep hearing this, but there's never anything to substantiate the claim. Like, say, Tomb Raider or Metroid are some of the most famous games of all time and always sell like mad when they're released (except for the last Tomb Raider which was handled miserably for its launch).

Overwatch has a female character on the cover, and it has sold so well that it has over 7 million players a week after its release.

The first game off the top of my head is Remember Me, that game would of been the Quantum Break before Quantum Break came out

Just playing devil's advocate, but that game would sell 20 million with the Gorilla guy on the cover instead

Remember Me was actually really good though, it was just trying too hard to be an action game... although honestly I still thought it was fine but whatever.

Anyway, the sequel, Life is Strange, also featured a female and sold quite well.

I believe sales ultimately is really as much a product of luck and timing as anything.

Aside from having the same developer, Life is Strange and Remember Me having nothing to do with each other.

I don't understand why physical copy even exist. Just waste of money for no reason. And I doubt cover have anything to do with good sales. Free advertisement, Blizzard, animated shorts, dat ass .

Well, everyone knows you should judge a game by it's cover.

Well the claim was that games with women on the cover don't sell, but Tracer is basically the entire face of Overwatch in Blizzard's marketing for the game.

Physical copies also exist for consoles.

Ah yes consoles I understand. But make DVD for PC multiplayer games is just pointless.

I suspect they barely make any.

The last time I was at a store was in like 2009 and they told me that they barely stock any PC copies of games because nobody was buying them.

My purchase will be digital, so what's on the 'box' will be irrelevant.

As for the art, I expect a composition rather than a highlighted character.

As Long as there are male strippers Too...

They should have an Easter Egg where one of the male prostitutes looks like Solas

I....

I don't know. Why I'm so tactless.

I can't imagine why the ark would host a large enough population for some of them to be prostitutes and strippers. Wouldn't 100% of them be exemplary professionals selected for maximum pioneering success via combat, science, and agriculture?

I meant hanged to death, by a hangman.
If she's into filthy bondage then I hate her even more.

This is where our new alien friends come to the rescue. I hope we don't see many old races as companions and get most new races.

But then what are the asari supposed to do?  :D

And frankly, every time I read about any colonization effort during the Age of Exploration, it seems to me prostitutes pop up before even proper medical infrastructure. World's oldest profession indeed
