That % must be pretty old.  Entertainment software site - 2015 - 44% women.  Consoles have brought more of us into the gaming world and once they get in with the consoles it's not a far jump to add a game to your pc.     :)    Also depends on who does the survey.  But the point is women do play video games and if the developers want to dip into that payload they need to make them aware that not all games are about Snake, Tidus or even Zelda.   :)

Don't know how old you are or even if you have or want kids, or maybe you don't want any daughter you may have in the future to be a gamer but  I would like BioWare in particular,  to get as many new gamers as possible.

Yes i know they do...duh!!!    The Sims!!! in my circle of girl friends the only ones that actually like to play video games its Sims!!! and if i am going to 30 years old or more  then its even more hard to find girls that play video games....man??? bah..i know guys with 50 and 60 years old that still love to play computer games.  :D  :P

Uh oh.

I agree with you, and it would be a nice chance. For the sake of my blood pressure, I'm going to slowly back away from the thread for a bit. Nothing against you, promise. Some of the level of passion among the posters on that subject could heat this thing up to the point of a lock.

Does it actually have to be an obviously cis (and probably white, and doubtless able-bodied) female?

BW already made some bold strides, and if they can't put a person of more fluid/ambiguous gender and non-white ethnicity, perhaps with some disabilities, or whatever diversity they feel they can get away with, which developer actually can, ever?

BW's games may be the only chance AAA *ever* gets to challenge the age old clichés and who knows if they do, they may change things for good. I dare them to have a person in a wheelchair, a person with brown skin, perhaps a woman with a flat chest or a trace of an Adams apple or who isn't good looking, just to break the mould slightly.

Can we install rocket launchers on the wheelchair?

Otherwise I'm not interested.

I'm stealing that gif for later use.

but yeah, this is probably a good idea.

The company that cracks the equivalent of Frozen for a computer game is going to build its next headquarters out of gold.
Commercially it must be attractive for a company, the problem is I guess is actually making it. I'm sure there are lots of brainstorming meetings occurring where lots of middle aged men try to think of how to get access to it.

You could say minecraft but that is basically digital lego.

And also why they never will access it ;)

Both these game have sold shed loads (an AAA and an indie game), although it does help they are both very good.

That's the kind of sexual objectification that I like, tight and modest attire on a woman that shows little skin.

Adding another good cover

Spoiler

I don't know how good financially it will fare, but I liked the first one, and I'll definitely pick up this one.

I play first game I remember nothing I don't even remember protagonist name or any plot detail, dos game even have story? What worse than bad game is game witch give no emotion at all. I just know main point was running and jumping. I would like sequel to Remeber Me I liked concept altering memory's. Nilin and story was interesting.

I can't figure out how I feel about Mirror's Edge but like you I can't remember anything that happened in the first game at all...

Yes, it had a plot. It was about a dystopian society, and the main character, Faith, was trying to solve the murder of an election candidate, who wanted change. Both Faith and her sister were framed for it, which is why she's on the run.

And Remember Me 2 already exists (the story is complete), they are just waiting for Capcom, or some other publisher to pick it up.

I met a lot of girls on World of Warcraft oddly enough.

WoW colored my perception, because now I assume 50% of people on an MMO and 65% of people on an RP realm are female. Someone super paranoid went "Hey, don't freak out on vent, I'm a girl" and then 80% of the raid goes "Yeah, me too." And yours truly, the tank, would be like "Yup." And then we said off-color things about the one Australian guy for the rest of the time because we were the worst.

Estrogen Accord.... Good times.

...No? I'm 99,9% sure they'd never do that.

I had to stop watching streams because of the comments that happened after that moment in the video.  I wonder if what they have is contagious?

I don't mind that as a preset face. It looks a bit like how I want my female protagonist's face to look on the first run barring a few touches I'd make like freckles and scars. Hair, skin and such notwithstanding. Should come in handy if I have trouble with the character creator's facial department.

Never read comments streams ;)  .

And actually, I'm kind of proud of BioWare for doing that. I'm sure a Male-NOTShep will appear at some point, but to start this way? Way to go...
