For one, the way Reaper asks about Sombra in game makes me think Reaper and Sombra are 'allies'. However, it appears Ana is more aligned with Overwatch.

No, Ana Amari is not Sombra. Ana is the mother of Fareeha Amari(Pharah), and served in the original Overwatch.

I would like more heroes aligned with Talon though. I want to know more about what Talon are doing and why they are against Overwatch. I'd also like to know exactly why Reaper fights Overwatch when he was one of the original members. I know it's something to do with Jack Morrison being named Commander, but still... it doesn't make sense why he still fights now.

Yeah, you need to get a decent group for competitive play.

I'm lucky I found one, although it would be nice to get to play more Tracer as part of said group.
I'm quite happy playing Lucio though if it means not having to go solo queue.

Yeah. I'd like to play more Genji or Tracer, but I am just better as a tank. The only tank I can't play is D.Va. Hopefully with her update, I might be able to play her better.

Yeah, I don't like doing solo in Competitive but I have no choice since those I play Overwatch with only want to do Quick matches, not Competitive.

While I have to wait a bit due to being on console, I'm looking forward to many of the new updates and especially Ana. From what I've seen and heard, I think I found my new best Support character.

 

Completely unoriginal observation time - she's basically a vuvalini from Mad Max, and I love it.

 

A few weeks ago, I actually had a very vivid dream wherein I had started playing Overwatch and I loved it. I'm wondering if it wasn't prophetic in some way. I haven't played the game, but I really, really want to. It looks brilliant, and I've been kind of disappointed with Blizz's last couple of offerings.

 

Just don't know if I am down for a MP only game. There's not cross platform play, I assume, right?

I've often heard that the best way to play D.Va is to use her like Reaper.
Thing is, why would I pick her to play like Reaper when I can just pick Reaper?

True enough. The Overwatch cast is a little light on characters that could be considered true antagonists: So far it's just Reaper, Widowmaker, Junkrat, Roadhog and kinda sorta Symmetra

While he's a flanker, Reaper's specialty is ambushing people.

Whereas Tracer is all about hit and run, Reaper is all about getting the jump on people, preferably lone targets, and murdering them.

Then when you get Death Blossom, you do the same thing only to more people.
I've wiped out entire teams with him.

Though D.VA lacks range I like her machine guns because It can suppress opponents thanks to its infinite ammo capacity. I may not inflict much damage, but I prevent the enemy from advancing. Also your rocket boost can put you in good positioning to attack from above or to get out of the battle alive if your low on health. Note that rocket boost can do some damage to the opponent or to push them out of the objective. I find it a more controllable version of Reinhardt's charge. Use the rocket boost to spring ambushes, get on rooftops or to accelerate into a better position to activate your ultimate as most D.VA's would do. 

 

While your shield is not as big or protective as Reinhardt's (It won't reflect grenades.), it can absorb a decent amount of bullets, so if you see turrets or a swarm of enemies just activate and absorb the hits. Its cooldown time is criminally high (10 seconds!), so use it only if there are a lot of enemies. When you get ejected from your Mech, be sure to stick with your teammates since you don't have any abilities and you are very squishy. Your gun does inflict a lot of damage, though I feel its rate of fire is slow. I think what I like the most about D.VA is because of her longevity. Once your Mech is destroyed, you still aren't dead yet and if you can weaken your opponent before he destroys your Mech, then you can finish them off with your pistol.

 

D.VA's ultimate is what I find to be one of the most powerful in the game. It has excellent blast radius  if you position it correctly, you can get 3-4 kills. However for whatever reason this kills you if you get caught in the blast radius so get out of the way. If you do survive, you can get back into your mech again. I would suggest activating it while rocket boosting, to give you ample time to escape the blast and to get your exploding mech in good position. You can self destruct your mech if you run out of (mech) health, though you should do this only if you're surrounded by the enemy. 

 

D.VA is great for cornering opponents or suppressing them and I find her as a very mobile tank. The upcoming patch should make D.VA into more viable tank.

Thinking about it, D.VA is more like Roadhog in terms that she's more of an isolation tank (they both excel at tanking against single opponents.) so be sure to concentrate on one opponent at a time.

While true, I don't think Zarya is an antagonist. In the lore Asia is having Omnic issues. Russia is currently involved in the Second Omnic Crisis, so her country is currently at war with them, so understandably she has some negative opinions. 

 

Same with D.Va, whose backstory is essentially a giant reference to Neon Genesis Evangelion(even her name D.Va is partly to refer to the word Eva from that franchise, and her outfit is similar to the plug suits Eva pilots wear) where every once in a while the East Asian countries are attacked by a giant Omnic so they enlisted her as part of an initiative to fight them off. Though unlike Zarya, D.Va seems to show no negative feelings towards Omnics.

Me too. Though knowing how long Blizzard supports their IPs and how single player is a highly requested thing, I have little doubt that there could be an expansion pack that adds one or another Overwatch game adds one, like Titanfall and Star Wars Battlefront are doing for their sequels.
