What weapons, mods/ammo, armour, and armour mods do you take? What skills do you kit out?

Currently on level 51 in an insanity game, so have 9 TPs left to get, but this is how I'm currently spec'd out:

Basic Armour - 12

Pistols - 0

Throw - 12

Lift - 0

Warp - 12

Singularity - 7

Barrier - 12

Stasis - 1

Assault Rifles - 12

Adept - 6 (maxed for now)

Charm - 10 (maxed for now)

Spectre Training - 12

I also have a point in intimidate which I must have done by mistake. I'm going to use the console to give me an extra TP as I'm not using intimidate anyway, so it's not cheating :D

I only have one in stasis as I only use it to quickly stop someone if I'm careless and they get too close.  Haven't spec'd into Lift as I wanted to max out singularity.  In hindsight, 6 in each would possibly have been better, but I'm not really struggling.

I didn't like any of the bonus powers other than ARs so I just maxed that out and put nothing into Pistols. The only character I've maxed out two weapons in is Garrus.

Bad build? I'm enjoying it thus far.

I don't get that involved with the stats tbh so I can't compare those.

But I'm playing an adept right now and I love it.  I've had Energy Drain as my extra power and it's come in really handy, and use pistols and sniper rifles as that's my preferred way to play.

If you get the specialisation class from Luna VI, you should choose the one which allows you to damage stasised enemies (bastion?), as this is very useful. It would have been even better if you had shotguns bonus power, but I guess it's good for any weapons really.

Plus, you get a single para/ren point when you become a Spectre, and every time you fill the respective bars every 20% interval.

That point in Intimidate was put there by the game when you were promoted to Spectre. So no need to cheat. :) If Charm is maxed at 10 as you say, then you've only put 7 points in there, the game has put in the other 3 for you. Awesome!

You should max out Lift in order to be able to Lift Colossuses. It will also speed the cool down on this most basic of the Adept powers.

You don't really need Armor. Instead, Barrier needs to be maxed out.

Spectre Training only really needs to be taken to the first Unity rank (3 points? 4?) in order to revive fallen squad mates. The other points should be spent elsewhere.

Maxing out Singularity, Throw, and Warp (in that order) is also a good idea. You definitely want some of each.

There is not much need to put any points into weapons. Get the Spectre weapons as soon as possible. The gains from having Spectre weapons more than offsets any points you lose by skipping the weapon skills.

I always have Master Lift, and try to get Advanced fairly early.  Like this in fact.

Also always invest in Pistols since Master Marksman gives you the best dps for a weapon talent.

It's slightly more point efficient to invest in Intimidate since the highest you need to pass all checks that way is only 10 instead of 12 with Charm.  But a couple points here or there aren't dramatic.

Cheers all. I guess my build is far from perfect, but it's fun nontheless. I hadn't realised about that becoming a Spectre automatically assigns charm/intimidate points.

Tbh, I'm already cheating by getting 5x XP from the Mako (to reach level 60 in one play). I'm tempted to just give myself more TPs to max out all my skills for sheer carnage fun.

As fate would have it, I currently replay the game as an Adept. If it matters, these are my stats. I'm currently at level 49, so I've got 11 more points ahead to spend.

Basic Armor - 5
Pistols - 3
Throw - 7
Lift - 7
Warp - 7
Singularity - 7
Barrier - 7
Stasis - 12
Medicine (bonus talent) - 7
Adept/Bastion - 12
Charm - 11 (7 without bonuses)
Intimidate - 8 (4 without bonuses)
Spectre Training - 4

Weapons: HWMP VII with Frictionless Materials, Combat Sensor and Polonium Rounds; Geth Pulse Rifle (even without the Assault Rifle skill it's pretty accurate)
Armor: Onyx X, light (in hazards, it's a Devlon Industries armor) with Shield Regenerator and Medical Exoskeleton
Bio-amp: Savant X
Paragon and Renegade score maxed out (using the Lorik Quinn exploit)

Sounds like a nice, fun build! I'm high level, but early on in the game still, so haven't had much access to better omnitools/biotic amps yet. I remember loving the Savant X, so can't wait to buy that. I've been through about 7M credits already ha.

BTW, can someone explain the effects of L, M, H armour on the player/NPCs? I figure that the heavier they are, the more cumbersome they become and the larger the negative impact on weapon accuracy. Does this affect NPCs also, as it isn't really documented that well in game.

The armors have much less explicit effect on weapon accuracy than you would think.

What they do affect adversely is the amount of your shielding (e.g. a heavy Onyx X [Shepard's "signature" armor] grants +360 Shields to your base value), damage reduction quotient and the power of your melee attacks. In addition, some armors have "hidden" featurs not described anywhere - like Devlon Industries armor negating level 1 hazards, Colossus armor regenerating health, Berserker armor giving bonus to biotic attacks etc.

The accuracy penalty for higher weight armor is "mobile accuracy," and isn't documented all that clearly.  I assume it is applied to squadmates, but I don't think it is going to be all that noticeable.  If you are worried about it, you can drop a Kinetic Buffer / Exoskeleton into the armor of Wrex or Ash.  Tali and Liara are always in light armor, and Garrus is light or medium, so it isn't going to matter much to them anyway.

Normally I like clean shots and it was frustrating that things took a lot of time to die with caster class... I'm soooo impatient everyone need to die fast! And ME1 is too buggy for me to use a lot of biotics as enemies kept getting stuck in the wall. >_<

But again, this is space mage class. Main powers; Singularity, Throw for trash mobs, Heavy Lift and Wrap for pesky single targets. Main weapon: pistols. I depend on squadmates to deal the DPS and Tank which is usually between Ashley and Wrex (I let Kaidan die in this pt). Although it usually ended up with me talking to the screen and grumbling how Ashley kept shooting at the wall... blarrdy AI. But Wrex kinda bulldoze everything with that shotgun of his and I chase him and concentrate on who he's hitting. Which can be fun and unpredictable.

Then again I play on PC, I use console to put every human wearing heavy armor for consistency (this surprisingly boost Kaidan's survivability similar to his build in ME3) and Spectre weapons on everyone because it look cool.
