Nudity itself doesn't get an AO rating. Witcher 3 still got the M rating even though it very clearly showed both butts and breasts, and included pretty kinky sex scenes. There's a specific line that needs to be crossed for it to be explicit enough for AO, and a cleverly-done scene can convey whatever degree of romanticism, eroticism, or kink it needs to without crossing that line.
Why no bold move?

I reckon, the first time you get Déjà vu ... it isn't.
(to paraphrase someone far wittier than I)
Oh, and I think this calls for a Drunk Effect toast - a big one:

More or less understood with human and (partly) Asari nudity ... byt what about Krogan, Turian, Salarian or Vorcha one? Are you sure it would please your eyes?

This is true as well. As hard as a game is to go for teen, it's equally hard for them to go for AO.

To be absolutely fair, Martin isn't that good at writing sex scenes. Fat pink mast anyone?
This is a very bad example.
The scene you mentioned is written from the specific point of view of Sam, and is intentionally supposed to convey his feelings and the way he sees himself.
Sam is a fat nerdy guy in a brutal and primal world that has very little appreciation for males like him (so, very much like ours, eh?...) no matter their intellectual abilities. He also has very low image of himself and his looks in general, so the pink fat mast description seems appropriate.
And now you made me nostalgic enough to look for Malukah's cover of "The Rains of Castamere"... Hope you are happy with yourself... ![]()
This one is also great.

If it's one that the whole family can enjoy, go right ahead. I'll stick to PM's for MY story.

I see a naked Salarian on my front porch, everytime it rains, or sitting in our cat's water bowl, during the hot day. As well as a naked Krogan in an aquarium on my dresser... So those two don't surprise me much.

Mass Effect isn't a romance game. Which is why romances are usually toned down and an afterthought.

Which is why you never have to do senseless conversations in this game and listen to some characters father complex for hours (Miranda) that you are totally interested in. Besides that it is really good that you don't have to do any side missions for these characters since you are on an important quest to save the universe. This would make this game so much worse.
