I usually give name's with the name of the person using it attached - so I don't confuse who is using what. Dorian's Revenge, Solas' Sorrow, Bull's Wrath,  Cassandra's Secret Dream - things like that.

What do I have...

 

Bruce's Big Green Fist (Staff) <-- he's a Rift mage, imagine a green staff who's shooting Stone Fist

Sera's Walking Bomb (armor) <-- I generally love giving Sera weapons/armor with "Kaboom" "Boom" or "Exploding" in it. I think I once gave her a bow named "Sera's Sparky Shooter"

Sometimes I name the weapons/armors after the Masterwork I used, i.e. "Bull's Walking Fortress" (armor)

 

Oh, in my first PT I made Solas a staff named "Solas's Staff of Solutide"

When Blackwall and Solas were bickering and it irritated me (and my Quizzie, who was romancing Blackwall and BFFs with Solas) I gave them plaidweave outfits. I can't remember the exact name for them anymore, something like "Solas's Timeout Robe" and "Armor of Inquisitor's Disappointment".

 

 

I love renaming the weapons/armor and either giving them funny names or lore-appropriate ones. Right now I'm playing through with a Cadash I'm RPing as a follower of the Stone, so I name a lot of his bows/armor after dwarven lore, historical figures, etc instead of funny ones, although he did get irritated with Solas once and give him a Staff of Condescension so he could use that power against evil creatures instead of his friends.

So I was rather disappointed by the kind of lame gift from the HoF's war table quest, so I made a pair of Silverite Crow Daggers to cheer myself up and pretend they were from my HoF, a DW rogue, as a gift to my DW rogue Inquisitor. I named them "Crow's Kiss" and "Nightingale's Blessing". Also made a +healing, spirit staff called "Griffin Story", a staff that had a chance to apply Walking Bomb named "Swamp Rose", a two handed sword with a lightning rune in it called "Steni-SHOCK" (I'm a little ashamed of that one only not), a two handed axe just called "Redemption", heavy armor called "Pigeon Smasher's Guard" and a shield that had a chance to cast Unbowed named "Hero's Champion". I'm currently working on a run to name a weapon or piece of armor after all the DA2 companions.

(No, nothing is named after Loghain cuz I could never see any of my characters letting him live Poor Loghain)

I normally name my weapons after weapons from Dragon's Dogma by corresponding type.

I haven't given one weapon a creative name, but I do love making colorful and fancy armor, outfits, and weapons.

My female dwarf rogue was not on good terms with Solas.  She made that abundantly clear with his outfit appearance and names.

Can't remember them all. I usually just made "cool" or fun names, but I did once in a while relate them to the characters romance.

 

In the playthrough where I romanced Sera I named her bow for her nickname to the Inquisitor. Buckles. I also tend to name everything on Vivienne "Darling." All. Of. It.

Also, I had a staff on my mage Adam that was named "Overly Critical" because he had a critical hit chance of 99% with it equipped.  It was glorious and between his staff and his gear it was a thing of beauty. I only wish I had a picture of it.  I just have a picture of the crit hit %.  It was a Wrath of Lovias schematic staff though.

Don't think that leaving the default name is the worst. What I do is the worst. I do change the names, but give them totally functional, nerdy names like "Tier 3 Fire proc Veilstrike" for a staff.

That's definitely less confusing then "Cole's Outknocking Armor"

seriously I forgot what the armor proc is, I think I gave it Mind Blast...

No, I think the worst is what I do when I'm in a hurry to get full new sets for everyone, then I end up with (Adaar is Inquisitor in this example.)

No two initials are the same class so, it works. I then do the same for head wear, upgrades and weapons so each ends up wearing a mess of duplicate letters LOL.

How did you get 99%??

I think I've only named one thing in all the games I've played. My first run through Descent I used my dwarf quizzy; I made her some Legion of the Dead armor and called it Deep Roads Defense.
