I wanna be able to attend a galactic council meeting and have ways to persuade the politicians in our own personal ways...here are a few examples:

Do you agree?

I'd rather stay out of all the political BS. Or.....I can use my charm on the to shove their heads up their......you get the jist of it. You know I change my mind. I kind of like persuading crude people to do the right thing. Doesn't work most of the time but that never stopped me before.

There is a high probability it is a galaxy not yet interconnected enough for 'galactic politics' to really exist. I imagine they will land on and deal with planets separately, if not literally stay within just one solar system, possibly.

Doubt it very much.

Because:

1. The story is localized in the Helius Cluster.

2. Bio said they want to avoid another galaxy wide apocalypse.

I want to be able to choose between a douche and a turd sandwich.

Oh wait, I'll get to do that in November.

Thanks, America.

I rather have no political pull at all. Shepard could persuade just about any one, I like this character to do a lot less of that. I'd like the characters to have their own minds.

I didn't. But I read the title so I totally know everything that's going on and I believe in my own extremely important (more important that other peoples important) opinion that we'll be the ones in charge once we get to Andromeda. No council needed. People will hang up on us instead! :D

Well... whoever's left after VMB burns it all.

A team going into different direction (ie: have their own minds) is useless to the Patfinder. It's a one-for-all and all-for-one approach.

Would be funny if BioWare tries to apply Milky Way concepts to Andromeda. The entire point of a new galaxy is to bring us new experience so they should avoid some of them from the original trilogy.

True.

But at least I'm honest about it.

Considering the type of person we are and the role we are playing we are probably gonna have a special type of charisma. But then you ask won't we be another shep? No we'll just be another leader, someone who people depend on. A driving force. That doesn't mean everyone has to agree with us. In DAI depending on certain choices Solas can disagree with us. More of that would be nice. But I don't believe we'll be on the level of Shep with the entire galaxy on his/her back. we'll probably be seen as a sign of hope to the people on the "ark". I don't have a problem with it. To be an effective leader you need that special type of charisma. If a squadmember disagrees with a decision you make use dat ole charisma to whip em back into shape if you're unsatisfied with their opinion or you can respect it. You're the boss, you're calling the shots. They're still gonna follow you anyway. They're you're friends or not depending on the choices you make. And if they won't listen then....well....you use your hands. My Krogan buddy doesn't agree with the way I handled a situation we go mano a mano. I'm just rambling but my point is we're gonna be that leader that people depend on anyway whether you like it or not.

They have a right to disagree. They should be like us. We don't agree on everything. Not everyone should have the same opinion. DAI had approval or disapproval. Would you say the squadmembers are useless to the inquistor because they disagree with him? If someone questions a decision I make I either own up to it or justify it.

I read it and watched the video and I hate politicians. Don't want to deal with them. They can kiss my ***. End of story.

I wasn't talking about the crew, ofcourse the crew need to follow the pathfinder, they all will have the same goal. There need to be cooperation. I'm talking about everyone else, like the new species and there politicians. I don't think a speech check should be sufficient enough to persuade them. It was dull with Shepard, and I don't want to see it here. It was absolutely absurd you could charm or intimidate just about everyone.

Shep did have extreme charisma. That's why we were so special. We had the ability to move mountains. That's why everyone held Shepard in high regard. Because of that leadership trait and charisma. And the pathfinder is probably going to be the same way. We play a game that moves forward by the choices we make. We decide because we are the hero, the big boss, the protagonist. In many role playing games these days we play as an individual who has a profound effect to motivate people. Why is that? Because we decide how things play out. It's a story about us. We have options. Either way something is going to be accomplished. Each choice we make has some kind of influence that affects how we are percieved and what course of action we should take. I'm no expert but it is a trend. I believe it's all about communication. Politicians are really good at persuading people by many means. They like to us symbols and events to agitate the public. Bush used 911 and honeyed words in order to get approval for invading the middle East. Trump uses his communication and authoritarian tone to captivate conservative crowds who are angry at the GOV.They have that charisma. That's why people follow fools like them. Because they know the secrets of persuasion. But I'm not expert on this subject this is just an opinion.

There are other ways to persuade an individual or have them see your way other than a speech check. Witcher did a pretty good job at this, geralt didn't have to always use his axii sign to get results. Sometimes persuading someone took effort.

But he got em over to his side. In ME you have reputation whether it paragon or renegade. Shep is the type.of person who has that aura that surrounds him. This was mentioned by Miranda there was a similar conversation between Revan and bastila. You really didn't have to work that hard at getting people over to you side.

Sci Fi, traditionally speaking, has always served to make statements on modern-day society through the use of allegories and narrative parallels to real life issues.  Politics are going to be represented in Andromeda in some form.  Will we see a big galactic council meeting?  Probably not.  However, the decisions regarding how to deal with native species we come across will likely be political in nature, but, given the scope of the ARKON mission, I doubt it.

Yeah that was Shepard, but we're not playing Shepard this go around. So I'd like it if we were playing a somewhat normal person who can't just tell everyone what to do and they'll do it. Where's the fun in that?

Like it or not we don't really have a choice. Ironic huh.
