Uh, people have already posted the exact quote where it tells you that, and you admitted you saw it.

Because you only get to choose one side. The warning clearly states that picking one side makes it impossible to do the other. The war table is a point of no return for either side which is why those warnings were put there. You chose to ignore it.

It says if you pick the quest for one side you can not choose the other.

If you can not choose the other, the picked one is the only choice left, no?

This user is acting in a nearly identical manner, if not identical manner, to another user from roughly eighteen months ago. This was their MO.

It can be so hard trying to figure out who genuinely needs help (and maybe doesn't speak English well) and who's just messing around.

No, I got only only one side and that is it.

OK, I'll bite.

That is what's supposed to happen. You CANNOT recruit both the mages and templars into the Inquisition.

The game makes it pretty clear. The cut scenes after Val Royeaux clearly set up that you're choosing mages or templars (Leliana, I think, is all gung ho for the mages, Cullen for the templars), as do the cut scenes when choosing Redcliffe Castle or Therinfal Redoubt on the war table (you even get a chance to back out and do the other quest, I believe). The war table descriptions, in full, also make it clear; paraphrasing, it goes like "The mages/the templars have contacted you about an alliance, so go to Redcliffe Castle/Therinfall Redoubt to meet with them." (There's more to it, but that's the gist.) And the warning is right there: Allying with X makes it impossible to ally with Y.

It's not done in big neon letters, but if you're paying attention, it's pretty easy to figure out.

There were two locations with warnings about, that if I choose one side I can't choose another, I read their desertion, there was no way to tell where I need to go to choose certain side, so I guessed that it will be made clear somewhere in that quest, instead there was no word about joining a side.

If you start Champions of the Just, you're siding with the templars and cannot recruit the mages.

If you start In Hushed Whispers, you're siding with the mages and cannot recruit the templars.

This is spelled out very clearly.

I wish it said so in description.

There is another question: how do I know if a location is safe to visit? Because sometimes when you visit some locations you can't visit others.

It... does...

Anyway, the only instance I know of where going to one location cuts access to another is when you go to the Templars or mages and can't go to the other. Do you have any specific examples?

I have to ask, is there a reason you cannot connect the previous parts of the game to the current event in the game? That seems to be your problem, you don't see or don't remember what happened before so, you want every detail in just one place in the game. it isn't that way, you have to rely on what has already happened to know what some things are talking about.

How could you not know that going to Redcliffe to meet the mages was the start of siding with them, thus the next quest that was only available AFTER meeting Fiona in Redcliffe was for siding with mages and, the other one with the same warning was clearly for siding with Templars?

Perhaps you are playing the game in a language that is not your best and, that makes it hard to understand?

Yes that was the part that got me worried, but considering your reaction this could have been the only place like this, so it should be fine.

No, that is not the case, also I still don't know how city names should ensure me that I will join one side or another. In other words this explanation is not good enough.

Nope, it dosn't say what location is going to join you to certain side.

1. You met Fiona, Leader of the MAGE rebellion in Val Royeaux. She told you to go to Redcliffe to meet with the mages.

You met them there so, how does that not tell you Redcliffe is the mage city?

There is another question: how do I know if a location is safe to visit?.

Here's a rough guide for visiting the regions where the enemies will scale to your level:

Fallow Mire-Safe to go there between Level 8-11
Crestwood-Level 8-11, with some 12-15 content
Western Approach 8-11, 12-15
Exalted Plains, 8-11, 12-15
Emerald Graves 12-15, 16-20
Emprise Du Lion 16-20
Hissing Wastes 16-20

The Descent-after Level 12; scales to your level
Jaws of Hakkon-after Level 20
Trespasser-after Level 20

It totally does. If you choose Redcliffe Castle (or just look at In Hushed Whispers in the journal), the text clearly talks about allying with the mages. If you choose Therinfal Redoubt (or look at the journal entry for Champions of the Just), it clearly talks about allying with the templars.

If you're just not reading the war table descriptions or journal entries, that is not the game's fault.

Yeah, and as people have pointed out numerous times, if you chose one mission it'll warn you that it will be impossible to join the other faction, and if it's impossible to join the other faction, obviously you're joining the one that isn't the other one. So if you start the mage mission, it'll warn you that you won't be able to work with the Templars, so obviously you're going to work with the mages, since they're the only faction that isn't the Templars.

I really shouldn't have needed to explain that. None of us should

Ok...I must admit my first playthrough I missed that too...but my vision isn't the greatest and the writing was too tiny. It took me awhile to get used to the small script. It also took me awhile to get used to the parchment writing at the war table.
