DAI gave us armies to command and a glimpse of managing them, but gave actual responsibility for managing and leading them to advisers like Cullen. But wouldn't it be more interesting if they actually made the player character responsible for these tasks? I wish the next DA game would be more like Mount and Blade, where you can actually build up armies and lead them, like in Adamant or the Arbour Wilds. I know some players might not want to play those real time strategy elements, but they can give us the choice of actually commanding the soldiers or letting others do it for us.
Adding RTS elements into the next DA game

There are rumours going around that a Dragon Age spin-off strategy game is in production - Mark Darrah asked on Twitter if people would like one, and the idea was certainly popular! I don't think we're likely to get many strategy elements in the main series, but another game where we can send armies around Thedas would be great.

I think the DA universe has a lot of scope for different types of game. I actually thought that's what the war table was going to be used for - a tactical military mini game of sorts.
I notice X-Com 2 is being ported to consoles for release later this year. perhaps if that does well a DA tactical RPG could still happen.
It's a game I'd certainly like to play.
