I don't mean just guns. DAI introduced us to grenades and explosives. The Descent DLC also us the interesting concept of bolt guns, and I wish the player character and his group can get something like those in the next game. Other interesting dwarven "firearms", like lyrium powered energy weapons or flame throwers would also be interesting.

There were grenades in DA before Inquisition. Alchemy has always been around.
Thing is, early firearms were pretty mediocre in comparison to bows. They aimed for **** and their reload times were abysmal. Add in the fact that Dragon Age has magic and alchemy and medieval guns seem pretty substandard in comparison.
The Sha-Brytol bolters are tough, but they're also using some kind of lyrium-infused weapon.

They also had a nasty habit of exploding and blowing the hand off the person holding them. Assuming the Qunari persist in the development of hand canons and/or someone else gets their hands on a reliable formula for gunpower, it will probably take a couple of hundred years to get as far as matchlock firearms. We'll be well beyond the Dragon Age by then.
