Yah, that's because we have another story where everybody doesn't hold hands and try and get along. It's called history.

Yeah, the occasional grim, realistic story is a cool surprise, when its done well. I thought "The Last of Us"* was a really good experience. I'm not sure I'd even call it fun, because there's so much death and sadness. It's definitely a game not to be missed.
I couldn't see BioWare bringing even half that level of grit to their stories, though. First, I think it would be very difficult to pull off with an RPG with so many variables, in comparison to ND's set-in-stone stories. Secondly, it might not make for the most replayable game. As good as TLoU was, I could never have replayed it 4 dozen times, or more, as I have ME since 2007.
As predictable as BioWare's formula is, and as much as I'd like to see it varied a bit, I'm not sure how much grittiness their games can handle. I wouldn't mind a bit more, certainly.
*I'm using TLoU because it is a game I've actually played that tries to accurately portray tragedy, brutality, darkness and human reaction to it. There are, of course, all different levels and types of "grittier" content that BioWare could include; and I realize at TLoU may not be the best example of such content.

& i like VR in MEA,but VR is expensive now.
VR fits for FPS games and ME is a TPS so I don't see that happening. Games like Mirror's Edge and etc. are best suit.

I'm eager to see how they'll balance the exploration/colonization theme with character development.
The development of each squaddie made ME and ME2 winners.
