A trailer that actually gave the "exploration" effect MEA trailer tried so hard to convey:

I'm not that interested by SC, but hearing "location: unknown", seeing someone smiling and excited at the idea of being the first human on a planet, seeing unknown creatures in the shadows. And this trailer had cinematography, a thing this BioWare teaser sadly lacked.

Oh well.

Maaaaaaybe.

I'll hold judgment until that's actually confirmed. A very dark, barely visible image without context is far from enough to be calling for heads.

You clearly see the Great Lakes and the eastern shoreline of North America. That is Earth, no question.

Unless you are suggesting some other planet has a continent identical to North America on it?

"We made it."

With the amount of stuff shown, we really didn't make it yet.

I'm not impressed.

This was my first reaction.  For all the hype, I thought they were going to show a lot more.  Seemed like the type of trailer they'd show right around the time the game is released, not this far into development.

Not to mention there are more than a few male gamers that prefer female protagonists.  Personally I thought it was refreshing.

My second most favourite franchise of all time features female protagonists, Dreamfall and TLJ are brilliant. Plus the new Tomb Raider was really good.

Yeah, it really is obvious. It took me a minute to see it, for some reason. You need to look at the urban centers. Don't try to make out shadowy coastlines. The lit urban centers are obvious and unmistakeable.

Yeah well at this point I am not sure if SC is even going to come out in any shape or form anytime soon. They seem to be entering development hell because their goals are changing so much. At this point the trailers are the best they have produced(and rather expensive it seems)

aka your subjective opinion on someone's attractiveness is not absolute.  And I thought the (possible) FemTag looked pretty good and not generic at all.  Well, no worse than the default FemShep was, and much better graphically, obviously.

You don't get it do you? I'm not talking about attractiveness.  I'm talking about generic.  Sera is supposed to be an Elf.  But they decided to changed them to a human form and slap a freaking ears on her/them.  Same thing with the Asari.  It's not unique looking.  It just look terrible that way.  It's like a freaking human doing a cosplay.  And yes the female protagonist is generic and the hair is the main problem.  A main character need to stand out.  The male shepherd was at least a bit of a stand out.

I see lakes. And something that might be Terranova but the surroundings don't quite look the part. "Clearly" seems rather hyperbolic.

But even if it is, that doesn't mean the Ark will be leaving from Earth. Those ships hanging about don't look like the Ark(s) to me. It might be some kind of recap of the battle of Earth or something else along those lines.

But even if it is what everyone's complaining about... I've already said it a few times, but the ME series functions on contrived plot twists and retcons. If you're looking for clever plotting or consistency, you've come to the wrong place. Really, I see people around here expecting a bunch of stuff that ME has never been known for, just because.

So disappointing.  The lack of detail with less than a year to release.  No gameplay footage AT ALL.   I really wanted to be hyped for this game but so fair they have disappointed me at every turn.   This may be the first time ever I don't pre-order  a Bioware game.  So sad.  Lost opportunity that they can't get back.

I don't know how to tell you but... you realize the Asari always have looked as female humans doing a cosplay, don't you?

This is the trailer they should have showed last year.  This year should have been gameplay footage even if it wasn't live.

Yes, because if asari are known for something, is not for looking like they were all copied and pasted from old Playboy covers.

Okay, thanks for Mr. Sunny, glass is half-full.

Well it is true. Many things have changed both in gaming industry and inside EA and Bioware. Not that EA has gotten better by any noticeable margin but I would doubt anyone who has not been present for the past 5-6 years in the company can say accurate things. I have worked in enough different companies that have gone through quite large changes in that time, in fact working in one that is currently undergoing restructuring and let me tell you things might seem same on the outside but inside even the few months I have been there, quite a bit of difference and even more on horizon. But then again I am just a consumer of games I have never been involved in game production.

The leaks included a tron/skeletal looking species as well maybe they are the Remnants and the Prothean alien like form we saw on one leak could be also in the game.

Space North America. It's in the same system as Space France and Space Australia. Surprisingly not close to Space America.

Yeah, can't really disagree with this. I can't help but wonder if their mentality has permanently changed after the DAI disappointment. Over-promising and under-delivering with DAI may have been a marketing turning point for BioWare. They may play things very close to the vest, possibly to a fault, going forward. We'll see, I guess.
