It's interesting to me that the trailer actually shows THREE "ark" ships. It's also interesting that they are nearby several circular structures which vaguely resemble the reportedly fake "relay concept art" leak from awhile back. And it's also interesting that the ships appear to be leaving from Earth.

If they leave before the end of ME3, as we all suspect (or before the start of ME3), it makes their apparently advanced tech difficult to explain.

If they leave after ME3, it makes the supposed reason for switching the setting to Andromeda moot.

Wait, you're saying these:

don't look like this:

to you?

Mhm. My bad, didn't realized the two shots were connected. Not really used to nitpicking teaser trailers  :P

Still, I'm not convinced the planet is Earth. And even if it is... well, you've read my last post.

I think those are the best frames on the trailer for that scene, still we can't really have a good look on those weapons. There's really not much I can do without learning some serious PS skills from a professional.

Pro tip, don't watch the image at full size. Also, anyone knows if there's an uncompressed version of the trailer to download instead of the youtube crap?

And why does the Ark ship just look like an elongated version of the Normandy?  Couldn't they come up with a different looking design?

All these high fidelity graphics and pixels upon polygons, yet they still have the character models move like they've got a full load of **** in their pants.

It's great lakes, Chicago, Toronto, NYC etc. Google any "US at night" picture. Fact.

This is the trailer they should have showed last year.  This year should have been gameplay footage even if it wasn't live.

Indeed, they could've also put a disclaimer saying that its a work in progress and subject to change. These pseudo dev diary's aren't cutting it anymore.

Loving the armor look. It looks like some of the old weapons are there: looks like an old model pistol and maybe an old model sniper that's folded.  I believe I saw an Avenger model in another screenshot.

I assume you mean Tempest looks like Normandy? The Arks are this giant intergalactic behemoths.

I like the Tempest design. Reminiscent, but different. They are both Alliance craft, after all.

I have a really bad feeling that this game is going to suck. This "trailer" didn't do anything but make me worry.
The monsters looked derpy and like they belong in some other franchise. Looking down the gaping maw of some giant, cartoonish energy-beast? That's like Lost Planet or Gears of War, not Mass Effect.
The facial animations looked goofy.
The human-centric narrative has me rolling my eyes into the æther.
The lack of any solid story or gameplay moments tells me everything is behind schedule, and the "developer diary" style just confirms that as far as I'm concerned. Why waste so much time showing developers and stock footage instead of content when the game is only 7 to 9 months away?
This Asari has hair for eyebrows. Also, she is ugly.

You're thinking of the Tempest. The Ark is the big-ass ship that looks like two tuning forks glued together.

What? That's the Tempest. The ark ships are the three large Citadel-like vessels shown in this trailer, and the same vessel shown in the last trailer.

Doesn't look much advanced to me. They still use old weapons and new Mako looks like improved versioned M-35, which already was replaced by Hammerhead in ME2. The only progress is in ships and a bit in armor.

Yes, whatever that thing is called.

Thing is, you'd think they'd want to differentiate.  They're going to great lengths to do the whole "We're not just recopying the Shepard trilogy!" mantra, so you'd think they'd come up with a vastly different design for the "main ship" as well.

Not to mention, the Normandy was a joint creation, was it not?  Human and Turian design?  So why would the Tempest, which is I'm going to assume, a human-only creation look like a ship that was partly designed by Turians?

People seem to be ignoring the back half of my posts

As I said, it doesn't matter if it's Earth. This is not me being overly optimistic — I try to keep low expectations for all games, Bioware games included. Most of all, I try to have realistic expectations. I would have liked the explanation for our journey to Andromeda to have been well thought-out. And maybe it will be, but that never has seemed likely to me.

Good plotting has never been Bioware's forte; the foundation of the story of every ME game has rested on extremely shaky ground. It's not what makes their games worth playing, and it's not what I expect from them. Simple as that.

So, Tempest confirmed. Wasn't the Tempest mentioned in the leak?

I wonder what else was leaked, hmmm..

Oh! It was CERBERUS.

That was a different leak that is entirely without credibility at this point.

They were going for human centric right from the start so it's kinda stupid to complain about it now.

Also all three, Lost Planet, GoW and ME are are very similar in their gameplay and so there is that whole aspect of 3rd person shooter and all three of them being a whole combination of several classic scifi tropes.

And really at least 9 months before release and "everything" is behind schedule? You know they have the whole thing called N7 day so they might be emulating Bethesda and giving a whole load of info on N7 day followed by solid couple of months of PR.

Yes, because if asari are known for something, is not for looking like they were all copied and pasted from old Playboy covers.

Huh? Do you even know what the heck I'm talking about?  THe Asari face/bone structure is TOO HUMAN looking.  It's like I'm watching a Star Trek TV shows with terrible alien race designs.  Maybe change up the nose, cheek bone structure, eyes shape and ect.

And I'm telling you: they have always looked like that. Yes, it's silly. Yes, I'd like asari to be scrapped entirely as a concept. But that's not going to happen, so we might as well learn to live with it.

That stuff had to look and feel familiar. The question of how the hell they manage intergalactic travel is a big one. That does require more advanced tech than any we've seen. I hope the explanation is good.

I'm sure I'll always sort of wish they'd just chosen a default ending state for ME3 (or not botched it to begin with) and let us continue to explore the remaining 99% of our unexplored galactic backyard. Still, Andromeda could hold some great stories, if they come up with a good segue to get us from here to there.

Tbh I do not see why it really matters if you think the Asari is attractive, ugly or anything in between. In the real world there are people who are attractive, ugly or anything in between. Far be it for a game to have characters with varying and subjective levels of attractiveness.
