No, she's not full-fledged like Liara but still a love interest.
She became a romantic interest years later in a dlc. She still wasn't a romance in the game she was introduced as a squadmate. The same can happen for the new asari.

I was working on editing my post from that thread. You didn't include your tweaked version here but I still wanted to post my response to it so here it is;
The tweaked version looks incredibly generic, in my opinion and with little to distinguish it from the model used by non-squad NPCs even with the make-up.
I remain in preference of the old one;

Those are adorable! I think this is legitimately the first asari companion that I've been interested to see more about and eventually meet. As someone has mentioned, she looks like a goofball and I'm kind of hoping she is.
As she is already revealed, I hope we learn her name soon.

The extreme expressions she's using make it hard to get a read on what she really looks like I mean

I get a "little sister" feeling. Like she has that vibe that she likes doing stupid things and then when she get caught she looks sad (for as long as you watch her). Then she just go and poke as something that looks fun. 
I hope you can get a big brother- little sister relation with her.
(Or I am wrong to base it on a 4-5 sec view and she is a liara/aria hybrid

If it is any consolation, I am usually terrible with determining ages as well and in fairness, it's terribly difficult to tell the age of an asari.

It is fun to speculate on how the characters might be. I always liked seeing how they were speculated to be and how they turned out to be. It was quite fun with Dragon Age: Inquisition. Sometimes people call things long before they should have even been able to even if it is for silly reasons.
If that is how she is then I'd like the option of being able to form a sibling-like relationship with her as long as it is an option and not forced. Depending on how things turns out and how the options surrounding the characters are, I could see the possibility of a very sweet relationship between her and my stoic Ryder. He is not planned to have a good relationship with their sibling so it could be interesting if he does have a sibling-like relationship with someone else.
Ryder and their crew is stated to be greener than Shepard and their crew so I'm imagining her as trying to imitate an asari badass icon like a huntress or a justicar but not having the experience yet to pull it off. 
There was an asari on Illum, I believe, that said she wanted to be a justicar when she grew up. I believe she also said that there were comics about them that she read as a child. That is such an adorable thing and something I wanted to see more of because it made the setting seem more real.
I kind of want to know if there is a Mass Effect equivalent to the G.I Joe franchise and similar shows.

Barring the odd choice of clevage window, she did have a design that indicated maturity, elegancy, stoicism and combat experience. At the same time, her appearance never seemd at odds when she smiled. I also really loved her design: the dark blue fringe with the small white dots reminded me interesting of space and stars.
Kudos to whoever designed her: barring the aforementioned odd choice, I thought her appearance fitted her personality and history amazingly well.
