Yup. She seemed kinda goofy, in a way I actually really liked. 'Specially the 'Aw, you're pointing a gun at me!' bit at the end.

She's just a facial animation demo. I believe the game will have show us a totally different look.

That's what I thought. And it's pretty good animation, imo. Good eye modelling. I bet they made a more male version just to show they can and troll.

This isn't DOA but it would be nice if we had some girls the calibre of Yennifer to romance in mass effect.

And the asari being not attractive to you means that every other woman in MEA won't be attractive?

I do understand if someone wants to have LI they found attractive, or more beautiful. But saying this is the current trend, started with DAI, when people complained before for the exact same reason is silly.

 

Assuming for a moment that she's an adult, which may not be the case...I don't think she's attractive at all. That has nothing to do with unrealistic expectations and the character not looking like a model, as I also think she's less attractive than the average woman.

That isn't necessarily an issue as she's not the first unattractive Asari in the series and not every character should be conventionally attractive. Its way too soon also to assume that the character is one of the companions and a LI. If she does turn out to be one of the LIs however, and the other option is designed similarly, I think people would have a legitimate gripe about those design choices.

If the last part happens, sure. The point is that we saw just one character, which might or might not look like that in the final release. Again, Morrigan changed several times from her first appearance in TFA trailer. Same goes for Cassandra. For good or worse, her face can change a lot during those 9 months.

 

The new Liara? Does that mean the ugly looking thing will be taking the main characters armor and storing it like its some kind of prize? Having listening devices put all over my ship? Being forced into cutscenes that she has no reason to be in? Hopefully whoever has that knife kills her and its at the beginning of the game. Hopefully its the only asari seen in the game

Yeah, they'll change her appearance during the game. Not only that, but we'll be able to decide ourselves how she'll look like.

You have a rather exact first impression. Other's usually only involve "I like it", "she's ugly", "she's cute". Not her whole personality...

I would be incredibly pleased if BW went with interesting character design over "every lady in the game must meet the dudebro standard of generic hotness". One of my favorite things about Inquisition was that so many of the female characters had visible flaws and realistic quirks that made them visually distinctive instead of twenty flavors of Playboy playmate.

I'm certain that some sort of compromise is possible. You can have interesting people with the so called "hotness". You don't need to remove one feature to have the other one. Personally I found the DA:I female cast lacking for a male protagonist...but this is my taste.

Inquisition wasn't the first Bioware game with female characters who aren't 'playboy playmates'.

I thing SurelyForth was just referring to physical traits, not that female characters before DAI weren't interesting. 

I had the same opinion on DAI that I had about DAO, DA2 and the ME3 trilogy in this regards.
