I was rather puzzled when I realised this, as well; no turians present in the trailer. I'm pretty adamant that the person on the left at 0:30 in the new trailer is a krogan, and not a turian. I'd honestly be equally surprised, and devastated, if turians did not make it into this game.

Good, time to make a little count about the squadmates ~

what I think, if the leak is correct and we have 7 members :

1. Cora (female human) - confirmed

2. Krogan - confirmed

3. probably a male human too (because LI, you know, like we had Ashley and Kaidan)

4. there's also rumor of a synthetic on the squad, we read about that few months ago

5. the asari is probably one too.

6. And maybe the salarian (but I'm not really sure about this one, he can probably be a NPC, I don't see a salarian on a dangerous exploration team...)

7. ?

 

So we have 1 place or 2 left. We still have a little hope !  I cross my finger.

Meh...don't care if they're dropped personally. Would rather asari being dropped, but oh well. Garrus was the only one close to being interesting and he died with Shepard.

Like the Asari the Turians are one of the fan favorites, and a major Council species. They also don't have fates that were impacted by prior player choice, like the Geth or Quarians. The chances of them not returning are very slim.

Hard to imagine all the Counsel races go except for the Turians.  I do expect them to be there...but have doubts any of the other races make it.  Quarian fans are gonna be mad.

yeah I'd imagine all hte council races will be there so that'll include the turians they've just not shown them is all.

BioWare are probably just trolling us, if the ARK was a Council initiative there's no way in hell the turians wouldn't secure some slots for themselves.  

 

I can live without Quarians, Drell, Hanar, Volus, Elcor, Batarians and Vorcha, I'd happily sweep them aside for new blood, but I need some pointy lizard kitty faces decorating my ship mmmkay?

On the other hand, Salarians are masters at infiltration and espionage, both of which are handy traits to have in a squadmate.

They're 110% going to be in the game. They're one of the 3 main alien species in Mass Effect. We know asari and salarians are here, there is literally 0% chance of there being no turians in ME:A

I mean if the Ark was a last second thing and if they couldn't figure out the dextro issue maybe they left without em. It isn't impossible to imagine.. ruthless calculus and all that.

Considering how huge the ark is, I highly doubt it is a last second thing. I personally think the ark was built during months (years?) by many species, a sort of big mutual project ~

I'm sure that after Asari, Salarians and Krogan they will show Turians. I'm not worried about them, Turians are one of the major races and will be certainly in Andromeda.

 

I'm more worried about the Quarians.

But the lack of Quarians is what makes me lose my sh*t. I know what you might be thinking, dude it's just a random species in a random game but I can't help it. I love Quarians. I will play and enjoy Andromeda no matter what but it won't be same without them for me.

Don't worry, I feel the same but about turians, they made me like ME even more. It's actually nice to have a special attachment for this or that species depending on your personal tastes  ^^ I'm sure we're plenty here in the same boat ~

Anybody else also wondering why they didn't know any turians again?

Could this mean they dumped turians as one of the races, that could get to Andromeda?

 

Maybe they were too much of a hassle to model/render on FrostBite?

 

Dunno.... they show us Krogan few times already, Asari is also confirmed, but trademark turians are absent?

I've been saying it since the EC you only see victory on Palaven in one or two endings. If the war is ongoing you might not see any at all.


Crazy theories of mine aside.

Salarian/New Race/Drell serving as our designated Infiltrator.  Perhaps this new race is a chameleon that can change its appearance to blend into the environment.  Perfect for the stealthy nature of infiltration.

If you pause the trailer at 0:56 when the female dev briefly comes on screen, you can see a sketch on the wall just to the right of her head. You'll need a high res version if the trailer because the image is out of focus but I'm 90% sure it's a Turian.

Of course, it's just a sketch and it could be old. But if we assume it was done within the last say, 6 months, I think it's unlikely anyone would be doing multi-angled sketches of a species that isn't going to be in the game.
