She looks like a girl in early teens rather than a regular Asari who have the sexy 30's look about them. Also could someone tell me what the heck is BSN that everyone is mentioning?

BSN is Bioware Social Network, what existed before this place.

They goofed and forgot that Liara's eyebrows were not actually eyebrows.

Oh well.

I guess I'm not as bothered by this as some others, probably because I thought the eyebrow markings were kind of silly to begin with. If you're going to give aliens humanoid faces, might as well give them eyebrows too.

The funny thing is that Mac Walters himself confirmed Liara doesn't have "eyebrows"

I usually don't say this, but I'm smelling a bit of a retcon. Either that or they are actually going with the "mating with too many humans" excuse. Which is stupid to me. If thousands of years of mating with non-Asari didn't start producing many physical differences, why would a handful of decades or possibly centuries make any difference?

Edit: Come to think of it, most of the alien races in the MW were pretty hairless. Other than the Elcor, Quarians, and humans, I think the rest have little to no hair. So maybe that's it? Maybe hair turns out to be a gene that can manfest itself in an Asari's apperance with enough human genetic code? It still sounds pants on head stupid though.

Or it could be that the Asari prefers the look of bushier eyebrows and drew them on that way. Who knows. Maybe they'll be gone by release.

The question is what other places did they grow or put hair??? ;)

I honestly think they just forgot. But in the area of races being redesigned this is a pretty minor change anyway. Qunari and elves have suffered much more drastic modifications in DA. Even in ME, you have things like batarians, who ended up looking very little like they did in the codex. Maybe eyebrows on the asari are like horns on some of the new krogan, e.g. an attempt to create a bit more variety within a species. But yeah, probably just an oversight.

Agreed.

She looks and behaves like a kid with those facial animations.

My opinion, asari have eyelashes when they are younger.  That's why they wear face paint, to make themselves look more appealing.

Thank you, Bioware.

I am glad that the change occured so that Asari become a marginally more unique and alien looking race.

Honestly, I think it was a reasonable change that looks great.

Ugly?? So every character on the galaxy and on the next one has to be perfect and beautiful? I think she looks amazing and ugly or not (if you find it ugly it's up to you, everyone likes different things) shouldn't matter. If she's a good and well developed character should be enough and not the way she looks/be render

I'm not crazy about the face paint as a style choice. Furiosa was great despite the grease mask, not because of it. Putting a similar raccoon mark on an Asari seems like an attempt to borrow cool. Asariosa, anyone? We'll see if her personality can hold up to the comparison when the game comes out. Right now I'm finding the faces a little uncanny valley ish.

That is because you have a great variety of men in the game who are not defined by being handsome, or at least not primarily by that. For example, talking mainly about design of squadmates ME2:

Men: Jacob (handsome), Zaeed (not handsome, old and cool), Grunt (alien, not what you would think as conventionally handsome), Legion (a robot who is not the humanish sexy counterpart EDI will be in ME3), Garrus (alien, although I think him and the turians are the most beautiful race in Milky Way, we can agree in human parameters, he is not handsome), Thane (alien but humanisly sexy), Mordin (alien and not handsome).

Women: Miranda (beautiful), Kasumi (beautiful), Jack (altough she is clearly beautiful, I can understand that her style can hide that for very conventional tastes), Samara/Morinth (alien but Asari, clearly beautiful), Tali (alien, but humanisly sexy).

Squadmates ME3:

Men: Garrus (alien), Vega (is he handsome? I would say he has an amazing body, but not handsome), Kaidan (handsome, clearly), Javik (alien)

Women: Liara (beautiful), Tali (sexy alien), EDI (robosexy), Ashley (stupid sexy Flanders...)

If you see, almost every single female squadmate is by default beautiful and/or sexy, even the aliens and robots. In the case of male squadmates, they are not handsome by default.

So I want all beautiful and sexy women to be erased from ME Andromeda? No, I love beautiful, sexy women, but I also like average looking woman, different aesthetics styles, not necessarily linked to my visual desires (i.e. alternative clothes of Jack) the same way I expect exactly the same with men NPC. I would hate all males in the game have to be good looking and sexy, that would get tiring very quickly and not very realistic.

I am sad you only noticed that in your playtroughs. The female I liked the most is the one whose face I never saw. The female I that apealed to me physically the most was Jack. Know why? Because she was different and unique, a woman that you cant find in everyday world. It is also for that reason that male players want good looking female characters, since good looking women are harder and harder to find. No man has opposed sexy hot male characters nor bemoaned their existance and you admited as much. The man said that the new Asari character is ugly, which she is. She is not attractive, and not feminine. So then the more homely female members felt personally insulted I guess, since they went into a rage thinking "If this average female character isnt attractive then what am I? Ugly? How dare he say that?!! Only women can make demands, men should be glad they have any woman deign them worthy of attention"

The baseline is, average looking women we can see by looking trough the window, going to a store, or just walking down the street. If I am paying 50, 60, heck maybe even 80 Euros for a game, then I can make demands of it. And bemoan it as much as you will, but men are majority of the gaming audience. I am sure that when women become equally or more represented as customers, the focus will change.

Not true. A lot of guys hated Thane, and one particular remark I remember was "I'm so glad they killed off that pointless femf apbait". There were snide remarks about Cullen. Plus there wasn't much handsome in the men's depot in ME. Garrus is a bug. Wrex a dinotoad. Kaidan/Jacob is nothing in comparison to maleShep, no threat there.

When a ME game makes an all male handsome race, or a hot malequarian, or a sexier-than-the-manprotag humans and I hear not a peep from the men about it, well then I will concede.

Until then, most of these women just want hot LIs just like the guys get. Then I doubt you will hear complaints.

As it stands be glad you got a buxom blonde human and a cutiepie asari because I am almost entirely certain the ladies are going to get a krogan.

And the complaints will go on...

tldr; give us all hot LIs and everyone will be happy, complain about one asari and trigger the i got a goddamn turian (now krogan) for a LI peeps, you're lucky she looks human

I hated Thane. I also hated Kasumi. Not because Thane was hot or whatever but because he was over the top, and so was Kasumi.

What objectively ugly human males can you name in ME universe? All of them are attractive, masculine etc.. And that is great.

I will be glad when I think there is something worthy to be glad about, not because I am told I should be satisfied with what I have.

Ladies, please just leave personal insecurities at the door. Men have standards, and shouldnt be shamed into giving them up
