My Amell redeemed him because she spent all game trying to redeem everyone and he was no exception. Also we needed another GW. We are meant to recruit them and this was a chance to add another good fighter to our ranks. A GW should not get involved in politics yet we had to settle the LM so I was not walking away without something or someone to aid my battle after I stopped a bunch of nobles from bickering like children when more important things were happening.
On a personal note, I know Alistair and Flemeth told me no one would take another Blight seriously unless the AD popped out, but that whole civil war and the Bann leaving was just not the time or place. Reminded me of the Reapers. We are trying to save the galaxy and everyone is bickering over the needs of their own people so Shepard has to solve all that before they said "alright we can fight now because you made us happy"
