Maybe a reboot?

Consdering things we have seen, everything very familiar and ME like but changed, the new asari who has eyebrows, the way the "find new home for humanity" has been ephasized.

What if they just went for a reboot? It's still ME universe but nothing on Reapers. Or at least not as we know them.

Which is why there are subtle changes to everything, aliens we know, the technology shown, the way they keep most of the details secret?

I am not terribly opposed to that but it would be a bummer. Or it simply might be set some 100 or so years after Reaper war.

What do you think? And please no need to tell me that I am stupid or delusional that is not the kind of comment that is in anyway helpful.

I doubt it.

Of course since its set so far apart from the galaxy and time were familiar with, it might as well be.

I don't think it's a reboot.

Seems to me they just have changed the art style.

Op, please clarify your definition of a 'reboot'.

The BSN can get very confused on such topic.

Rebooting the whole series, when they promised they would be respectful and still truth to the trilogy seems weird and kind of a jerk move.

it is after the reaper war in another galaxy: andromeda, so not really a reboot

By that I meant they went and pretended that ME3 at least didn't happen or it happened in a totally different way or even ME1-3 happened in a totally different way, this all might come down in a variety of scenarios.

Well they could say that they have preserved the choices people made and their versions of Shepard forever that way. Who knows what weird mental and logical contortions they went through. Or I might be wrong. I am sometimes wrong.

I meant in as they could have rebooted the universe, like ME1-3 never happened or it all happened in a different way or the whole ME history we know so far might be subtly different. Or they might have gone and simply retconned pieces like adding the whole ark thing and this is an actual mission starting out from Earth on the eve of Reaper war with heavy asari and salarian support support(the Tempest looks a lot rounder, organic like asari and salarian ships and weapons).

There are a lot of possibilities.

In fact it's a reboot. We aren't going back ever. Thanks to ME3 shitty ending.

They didn't pretend ME1-3 didn't happen, but they escaped the showdown.

Frankly the plot solutions were limited, this one is as good as it gets...

Thank you. I just wanted to avoid the "I don't think people know what a 'reboot ' is." comments that were sure to show up several pages in. ;)

Seriously releasing the ME3 endings and expecting people to pay for them made EAWare Literally Hitler. They're far beyond jerk moves at this point.

Naw, man, they could've just ignored the endings and gone with "Shepard defeated the Reapers" and leave it at that.

Exactly, how the f*ck is that game a reboot, it's all about finding a home for humanity. New game, new story. The reapers won't even be in the game based on what we saw,

They could've.

They didn't.

They want to go to Andromeda.

"Want" lol. They had no choice. As a new studio you want a clean start w/o ME3 shitty legacy.

Stupid possibilities, though. You're paying all the costs of a reboot, but you aren't getting any benefits from the reboot.

In a way, it kind of is a reboot.  Moving the game to Andromeda and not continuing on the previous three games is as close to a reboot as you'll get in gaming.

What is? That they had a choice? They did. Plain and simple.

Thats not true at all. You don't go to the other galaxy if you don't **** this one up.

Of course it's true. There are plenty of reasons to travel to Andromeda.

Hell, "because we want to" is a perfectly good reason. That's basically why we go to space now instead of exploring every inch of the depths of the earth and the oceans.

maybe we have to find a team to take earth back if its still there or even it could be too far away?
That big ship in the video though ,was that the new space station for us like the citadel, that thing was huge,
