"if you haven't played, you don't have to worry about whether you missed out on some key choice or something like that."
Jesus, that must mean we are leaving before the start of ME3. Expecting some lovely retcons and plotholes right from the start then! Good job, Bioware.

yeah. Like i said, the "Ark" ship was build during the time Shapard spend in earth prision between ME2 and ME3 so it make sense that they send it as soon as they knew about the reaper invasion

No, it doesn't make sense. None of this is going to make sense in established lore, which means they're going to be retconning stuff and there's gonna be a tonne of plotholes as to how we got the technology to travel between galaxies but we couldn't use this technology to help us defeat the Reapers.
This sucks.

Well it depend on what the technology involve. If you have the technology to make a "Ark" ship with Cryostasis pods, that doesnt use any special type of propulsion since the travel to Andromeda will take ALOT of time. I dont see how we can use this as a way to defeat the reapers, and outside of what Liara discover, we didnt have plan to actually defeat the reapers so it make sense they were looking on way to run away from it .

So the only hope of the Ark project making sense in the lore now is the Black Ark Theory.

The Ark would need a HUGE power source to keep it going that long. A power source similar to the Crucible. If they managed to get these Ark ships running, why did it take them so long to build the Crucible?
That is legit probably the most ironic and hypocritical statement I've ever read on these forums, and so I'm not gonna read beyond that point
lol exactly what I would expect from you honestly.
Funny thing too they said the journey will take hundreds of years, but it wouldn't because you know that's impossible. It would take at best millions even with super spacey technology....yet you don't see me whining about it on the forums. I wonder why that is....oh yeah I'm not an idiot realize that devs have real life limitations (they also don't know anything about physics or science apparently either). Not really aimed at you of course, but I figure if you get to ****** about something so do i!

yeah preatty much or similar to it.

Pretty sure someone did the maths and worked it it should only take them around 250 years to get to Andromeda, can't remember what thread it was in.

Not to mention the ark ships are seen orbiting the earth there is no way that would go unnoticed by the galaxy at large including Shepard.

Looks like I was right, regarding your choices and all.

lol no. Because andromeda is 2.54 million light years away. It would still take them at least a million years. At best thousands....hundreds would be impossible.

well it take long to build the crucible first bc the miss 1 part that was the catalyst and second if they actually build the ark first they deplete their resources, so they need to gather the things again. Plus we dont knwo how Eozo (i dont remember how to write it) work, outside the little we read on the codex, maybe Eozo can last for a long long time, is more humans discover the first refine eozo on Mart on the protean dig site, that mean the properties of Eozo dont wear off, that mean they can just keep using it forever.
Till the actual game realse we wont know how this will happen just speculate.
I don't really care about the continuity snarls Andromeda might introduce. It puts time and a whole hell of a lot of distance between the new game and ME3's horrible ending.

I'll do the math for you right now.
Andromeda is 2,538,000 light years away from Earth.
Reaper or Reaper-equivalent drives can go at 30 light years a day, or 10,957.5 light years a year.
2,538,000 divided by 10,957.5 equals 231.6222 years.
If you want to get super specific, it would take exactly 231 years, 227 days, 6 hours, 12 minutes, 23.04 seconds to get from Earth to Andromeda using a Reaper or Reaper-equivalent drive.

Don't forget to add bathroom breaks, and stopping every 2 hours so you don't get fatigued.

It is a lot more complicated than that and we both know it. Beyond that I'm talking about the science and reality, not what bioware believes is reality. If we are going to use "it doesn't make sense" as the metric for this then all of ME doesn't make sense. It lacks in actual science, no one understands physics, and their biology is shameful. Their FTL isn't even possible. That was actually my point. If we want to talk about what makes sense in a world where **** doesn't make ANY ****** sense then we might as well just toss it all out. Or we can agree that some things don't need to make sense and the developers have limitations.

I was going to make that joke, dammit!

Reaper drives don't have any limits, or at least any known limits, to them.

What are you talking about? My calculations were done with the established lore of Mass Effect. In Mass Effect, that is reality so makes sense. Yes in our reality it doesn't make sense since we don't have the exotic particle known as Element Zero, but Mass Effect is literally our reality if that particle existed.
Bear in mind we're not travelling at the speed of light... we're travelling a lot faster than the speed of light. Reapers travel at 10,000x the speed of light. That means they could travel 2.5million light years in 250 years. So, "stop pretending how intellectual you think you are"
You really are taking this rather hard aren't you? Cheers mate!

It's not more complicated than that. That's the maths; that's how fast the Reapers could travel to Andromeda.
The discussion isn't even about science or reality. It's about how Bioware are going to bullshit the Ark into the game's lore and butcher their continuity even more.

No, I was taking the ******. Lighten up pal

For one we have no idea what kind of drive the ship is using. Reaper technology we already know comes with strings so unlikely to use it.
