[Atomkick]

First of all, I would like to say that I really enjoyed the trailer like everyone else. Imho, I felt like it's actually good enough to keep up the hype until the N7 Day or game's launch. That being said, I wanted to make a thread about this trailer(I know there are couple out there), try to collect everyone's opinions and speculations at one place, about what we've seen and what we might've missed from the trailer. Added spoiler tags as there are couple of gifs below.

 

1. The Tempest

 

Our new starship Tempest definitely looks amazing. Close to the original Normandy yet very different and Sci-Fi-ish. Do you think it is going to be a customizable ship?

The exterior design pretty much seems like this, just here and there.

 

2. Mako and the Worlds

 

Mako's appearance was very little but we were shown new different worlds in the trailer. Do you think BioWare is going to design planets in a very good way like adding environmental effects and natural hazards? (look at the second gif under The Tempest)

3. The Asari

 

We got the confirmation that the Asari are going to be in Mass Effect: Andromeda but what do you think of this particular Asari shown in the trailer? To me, she looks young and cute (that expression at the end  ).

 

 

4. Combat

 

There isn't much shown around combat except for this biotic jump ability. Do you think BioWare will introduce new gameplay mechanics and abilities with this game? Chances of being left handed? (look at the first gif under Creatures). Thanks to Malanek.

Cover mechanic is going to be there but no sign of destructible covers. Also, sign "Ai" on the protagonist's armor.

 

5. Creatures

 

Yahg like creatures and flying whales, will be interesting. What do you think? Planning to tame one?

7. The Ark and the Planet

 

I see multiple Ark like structures in the back excluding the big one. Do you think there are going to be several Arks built? Also what planet it could be? Earth or some other planet? Definitely has to be Earth because I see Alliance warships.

 

 

8. Characters

 

What do you think of this particular female character shown at the end? Female PC or just someone else?

Overall, what are your thoughts about this trailer and the content shown with it after 2 years? Some rumors even came to be true. Impressed or expected something better? Post your own thoughts and feelings

Since they have a female pc in full armour taking cover in an earlier snippet I think the woman at the end is probably also her.

 

Edit: Someone with a twitter should ask the devs for confirmation.

My bet is that we'll find species native to Andromeda which we are already familiar with from the previous games. And what would Mass Effect be without epic Tresher Maw fights?

Well noticed, Malanek. I completely missed that. It would be nice if we are actually able to switch between hands with a single button.

The change in expression for the Asari is because she/he.it goes from smile smirking to saying oh! when someone just about sticks a knife in her ear (that you can see to the right just as she changes expression.

Something that hit me was woman waking up at the end, saying "we made it." It kind of proves any of those cryosleep(ish) theories on how the Ark gets to Andromeda. I don't want to assume anything in the story here, but I'm guessing the Ark is using a method of travel that will require a really, really long time to reach Andromeda. Which is why all the occupants will have to be in some kind of Stasis the entire flight.

I felt the same. The graphics particularly at the end seemed bit cartoonish and hope they don't cook the entire game in that way.

"We made it" is a delightful clue. There's a lot of hidden meaning in those three words, delivered by the female protagonist, no less!

Sort of random, but maybe now you can have customizable white armor, something that wasn't possible in ME2 and ME3 to my mild annoyance.  Assuming of course that the character in the  combat clip is the protagonist and something like ME3 customization comes back.

Cryostasis has been (semi)confirmed on this board for a while now.

 

That's not what I think this was, I think this was escaping from a battle.  Notice the woman not waking up in a pod?  No.  That would only happen if she were escaping from a battle.

ME1 Ashley armour I'm a bit iffy about.

Love the Krogan. My guess is that scene replaces the gas scene from that leak?

The Krogan is carrying a mean looking gun.

His armour looks different but familiar.

I like the interior ship design with I'm assuming the galaxy map at the front of the ship.

Like the way the Mako launches from under the Tempest it makes more sense.

I like the tempest reminds me of Seaquest for sone reason.

It does suggest a TL from where I sit but I've been saying that for a while so I assume I'm probably wrong.

Apart from the thing in the center of the rectangle being spherical in shape, I'm not seeing the Crucible there.

The Crucible was capable of generating a ridiculous amount of energy. That its core design principles could be adapted into an engine capable of traversing dark space actually... does make sense. It may not be "the" Crucible, but it might be that the Ark project was conceived from what was learned during the Crucible's construction.

1.The new ship looks a lot longer, leads me to wonder if the interior of the Tempest will be a lot bigger then the Normandy was. The exterior part looks really cool, but seems like where the pilot would be and I see no pilot. Maybe AI pilots the ship and you just put in location from that pop up console?

 

2. I really like how the Mako looks and appears to drive, especially in the half second part of in driving in the sand dune. I would imagine their would be environment effects and hazards, they had that in ME1 though it was to a much less degree with a bar that filled. Plus, it seems that would make sense to give each planet a  even more unique feel. 

 

3. I am glad the asari are confirmed. I find the black face paint interesting, since I can't recalling see a asari with black face/paint tattoos in the series. It makes her look more tribal. Also I can't tell if she has eyebrows or if that is the face paint? She looks cute but seems a bit more masculine/less feminine looking then typical asari to me. 

 

4. I would think there would be some new gameplay stuff and twerks, like with every game. They would have some new powers, abilities and guns but still have some basic, known elements.

 

5. I was thinking that looked kind of like a yahg. Also at 1:19 in the trailer, looks just like a Thresher Maw. Flying whale thing looked cool. 

 

7. Did not even notice the others one in the background the 1st time. It does look like Earth. If it is how will they explain that?

 

8. I though that that is supposed to be female PC, though it could be a squad members. Like the hair, she is cute. Glad to know they used stasis/cyro sleep to get to Andromeda, at least that is answered. 

 

I really liked the trailer, made me really look forward to the game. However, I still have a lot of questions that I want answered and more that I want to see from the game. Hopefully, they show more in the next few days at EA Play or E3.
