I was going through the configuration utility an had set it to 8x AA but when I go ingame it does not take effect for some reason ? Then later I found out that either the engine has something against AA an you have to force it somehow or ME2 has the support an its just bugged, either way its annoying not being able to use AA what so ever especially since it has the option to use it in the config utility. My pc is more then capable of playing this game so its not a hardware issue if anyone wonders about that (look at my sig). lolz if there is a way to enable AA or if there patching ME2 for AA support I would very much like to know thanks.
No AA in ME2 ?

Since you have an ATI card, your only solution is to rename the game to UT3.exe. Then the AA setting in the CCC should work.

you dont really have to do so as you can force it in the Ini file
its easier that way

I don't think there's a way to do this through the ini file, UE3 doesn't have any anti-aliasing method. Just another limitation of the engine, between this and the Vert- for widescreen issue I'm really hating UE3 engine these days.

I found the game settings ini but theres no AA option to even config so I'll have to add it I just don't know how exactly to type that in so it does work X_x. I'll also try renaming the exe to UT3.exe but I don't like renaming things unless its totally needed lol.

Unfortunately, due to limitations of the U3 engine, there is no AA available. There is Anisotropic Filtering though... You can try what the others suggest, in renaming the executable to ut3.exe and see if enabling AA in the catalyst control center works.

Ok so I've got a 5770 and tried renaming MassEffect2 in the binaries file to UT3.exe and then applied AA in CCC- it works but it kills the framerate, even at the lowest AA settings. Is there anything else to tweak in CCC? It looks good with AA, but the framerate just chugs...

ya that's what I was afraid of >.< as I remember using AA on ME1 an frames dropped like a stone but I'll try 2x AA an see what happens after I backup an rename the exe if not I'll just look into tweaking the texture resolutions for better quality as I prefer better quality textures over AA that in most cases kills fps.

I just tried the renaming the exe to force AA an yes it looks better but at the cost of huge amounts of fps which to me wasn't worth it lol. I'll just play ME2 at a much higher resolution when I get my new monitor (24") xD atm I'm on a PoS lil 15' that's restricted to 1024-758 not a horrible res but sure as hell doesn't have the crispness of 1440-900 xD which is a good in the middle res to play just about anything anymore lols.
