I cast Soul Trap on it and it is now encased in a dark sould gem which I carry around with me in case I need to re-charge the enchantment on my glass short sword.

My theory:

I think they got really freaked out by the reaction to ME3 endings or DAI, and are now really really careful.

Agreed, but after ME3 not everyone will buy just because it was made by BioWare.   They have laid a few eggs lately.   I think they have something to prove.

no really. Bioware still is a strong company. Really they dont have nothing to prove. DA I it was a good game, and it make them good money ( fans tend to cry a year after the game release but that is bioware fans)

It also features a bunch of stuff that ended up being cut. Not sure that's a great model after all the DAI whining.

Interesting vid, though. Some stuff looks better than what we got, other stuff looks worse. I'd forgotten that Shepard's armor looks a lot more like what we got in ME2; I guess the cynics were right that ME1's supposed artistic vision was more about keeping poly counts low.

Yeah lets be real here Bioware has success with all their games most people would dream of, even the ones a lot of hardcore fans don't like as much.

For me personally even if I don't like the games as much it's still hard not to acknowledge the skill in making them, all the art, animations, bugs, design encounters, programming, it's a huge thing.

When are we going to get more information on this game? I want something that will grab my attention.

Something that will make me say, " no way, they're doing that? Yes!"

I've been gone from the forum a long time and your video is what brought me back.   Dragon age Tevinter, I'm sold. ME:A, hmm. I don't know what happened to the soul of ME. I just hope they can deliver on the exploration aspect of ME:A.

It's unfortunate that they don't have anyone in their company that can provide the experience some hardcore Bioware fans want... really just too bad.

The game is not being made for 'hardcore BioWare fans', which is just as well.

Since when does anything made by EA have a soul? Especially if they dont have one themselves.

Probably November. Flynn said something along the lines of not thinking it worthwhile to show a bunch of stuff with the game still nine months off.

But that's wrong.

DA:I was a poorly made from a technical standpoint.

I have seen better character animations in third tier mobile games. The characters themselves all had faces that looked like they were either covered in canola oil or they just finished running a desert marathon at the height of summertime.

The combat was some of the most uninspired I have ever played with a controller. There was no weight behind anything and the sound effects were about as exciting as listening to someone opening a jar of boiled onions.

The overall concept of the multiplayer was great (which as an ME3 mp fan had me pretty excited) But the actual execution was so bland one would almost have to put in an extra Herculean effort to make something so bland on purpose. You can tell DAMP was not made by top master level programmers of the game industry.

Looked better on my rig. Were you playing on a last-gen console?

Bioware hasn't been making a game for them since arguably DAO. Hell, I'd argue that afterward they've been making games to spite the old hardcores.

Perhaps so. Depends on the definition of "hardcore Bioware fan." I suppose it can't include me since I like the new stuff fine.

Same here, for the most part.

Being a "hardcore BioWare fan" also seems to involve a good bit of selective memory and willful ignorance, too, considering how many things are given a pass in previous games that are ravenously chewed up in the latest ones, as well as how many successes and improvements are disregarded for more hand-wringing.

Ever since the doctors left I've noticed a pretty strong dip in quality.

I'm talking more recent history.

SWTOR was pretty hardcore, still is, even.

So Citadel, Dragon Age: Inquisition, DAI DLC, and  MEA leaks are enough product for you to call it? Because that is literally what has been released since the doctors left BW.

Call it? I'm just saying all those things you mentioned yes I perceived quite a substantial grade lower than what came before.

Plus Greg Zeschuk I mean he was just so sexually appealing I always wanted to do naughty things to him.

I feel like Ray Ray and Greg had this cool back and forth that kind of defined the company, plus they were like doctors and super smart and everything I mean "Bioware" literally from Bio and medical technology. I think one of them was like a champion poker player too, so yeah you really don't just replace people like that so easily IMO.

I'm not sure one game, some DLC, and a marketing campaign are enough to declare a pattern.

They also cancelled Shadow Realms, and you aren't counting the SWTOR situation with the companion wrecking and all that, as well as the time it's taking to get out new games and stuff. It's more than just a few things.

They've become like the CIA or something it seems very secretive and protective.

I don't think we should count things not made by the main Edmonton team as yet, which did get split up in part once EA took over. While we talk about ME:A as a Bioware game, I'm not sure how much of the same SP team moved on to Montreal apart from Mac.

And I need more info than "guns, Mako, and jump jets" to actually interest me in a game.

Sorry - you sold me at jump jets ... WooHoooooo!
