^^^^^ I have been out of Likes since this morning..it's like maybe once every 2 hours..I get 1 of them back to give....weird.
There's no specific "Magic Like Time" that returns all of your Likes. Each Like is timestamped, and returned to you after 24 hours. This was immediately apparent when Wheeljerk signed on to BSN. The first day he used up all of his Likes on the Official Behind the Monitor Thread, and the following day, 24 hours later, they started coming back, one at a time. He could literally be out of Likes, wait a few moments, then receive a Like back. The time in between appeared to coorespond with the amount of time it might take to read a few posts and give another Like.
Suppose your account has 50 Likes. Internally, they are numbered, and unique. An individual Like goes on Cooldown for 24 hours. Whenever you Like a post, the forums go down your list of Likes, as a checklist, and allocates the next available Like. It's a conditional branch of if/then/else statements. When you Like a post, it would look something like this:
if Like #1 = ON then (award Like, Like #1 = OFF)
else if Like #2 = ON then (award Like, Like #2 = OFF)
else if Like #3 = ON then (award Like, Like #3 = OFF)
all the way up to Like #50, which would look something like this:
else if Like #50 = ON then (award Like, Like #50 = OFF)
else showpopup 'You have used your maximum number of Likes for the day.'
end
