Please no. Can't we just keep the campaign and the multi player separate. What's so wrong with that? I still get my dedicated single player experience, and the people that want multiplayer get that too.

Why SS? It's only an option  for those who would want to play that way, it wouldn't hurt your game, your SP campaign :)

Time spent making co-op is time not making new content...

Time spent building any type of multiplayer is a separately budgeted activity to single player content.

In short, building one does not mean you get less of the other, in fact, multiplayer is a useful testing platform.

So essentially there are no non-trivial objections.

They could either watch the cutscene or the people could skip the cutscenes. The point of the coop is to play the campaign with a friend.

I think you're right about this. The conversations could run automatically just like in ME3's action mode.

Well. having to watch another Dude making out with that hot blue space girl is kinda ... um no thanks.

But some kind of (optinal!) drop in coop mode where others can join a mission replacing the NPC squad mates is a nice idea and could just work like ME3MP does now.

If MEA has the same N7 missions as ME3, reusing MP maps in SP, I can totally see that happening.

Hey Bioware,

I've played the Mass Effect trilogy, with great excitement may I add. Likewise I'm really excited for the release of Andromeda but PLEASE add full co-op campaign support. It really is a no brainer considering you have two AI characters tagging along with the player anyhow.

THANKS!

It could work similar to the co-op in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 where a friend could come in and play as Tails. But that would be the extent. Obviously they'd have nothing to do in non-combat situations. I don't see them doing this for a story driven game with hubs. Makes more sense for games like Halo were you're mostly fighting with a few cutscenes thrown in here and there.

Co-op would be so good. I get pretty jealous so I'm going to have to be your romance option.

Would be cool to give the squadmates limited interactivity in some dialogues, too. Other ME games already did this, in that some squaddies would either charm or intimidate depending on Shep's lead.

Even better if you could work against one another and screw it up.

That's exactly why I don't want it. Let them screw up their own game.

Are you allergic to other humans or something? Jesus H. Christ, nowhere did I suggest you would be forced to play with a friend (assuming you have one).

The hysteria expressed when literally any form of MP is mentioned here is insane.

Why do you need to get emotional about it?

That's not exactly true. Developers always want redundancy. Why should I pay for the SP team and MP team to each design a separate feature when they can use the same feature?

Let's not kid ourselves. There is no budget for two separate games. They require compromises. If BW could produce a stand alone MP title based on the MEU that made more money than the SP then they would pull the plug out of SP. They still haven't done that, despite the "success" of ME3MP.

That doesn't necessarily follow unless either Bio isn't big enough and can't get big enough to produce both games simultaneously, or the market can only support one ME game at a time.

I can see the latter as being likely, though I don't have any real understanding of players who would buy the hypothetical MP-only game.

The economics of MP only are different, though. So are the margins. Why would they want to design an MP only game when the model that had success for them was an SP game with a built-in MP mode? If they cut SP, suddenly people would want a lot more out of MP.

I agree. I'm not entirely sure ME could compete with multiplayer-only or multiplayer-focused games in their own turf.

I would say no to co-op campaign. The Multiplayer is supposed to provide us with all the co-op fun.
