And not just the word "abyss" either, but the whole thing! Where is the abyss, Flemeth? Well, Here Lies the Abyss :P

Me too, and I think it's worth noting that Weekes said that it wasn't confirmed that they died, since it wasn't shown outright. So there's that :)

So, whoever gets left behind is only "mostly dead" and "Twue Wuv" will save them?! :D

(I still won't leave a Fenmance Hawke behind though )

Leave Hawke. Nobody stacks up against the great Ser Alistair!

I agree but only because i killed him at the Landsmeet as traitor of the GW.

Hawke>Alistair.

My default world state is Alistair as a Warden -- he's actually a Warden most of the time. Hell, one of the only times I made him king was when my Warden became queen with him. But uh, more on point... He survives over Hawke every time. I feel like crap, mostly because of whoever Hawke is romanticated with is left behind. Alone. :crying: I do this because:

1. It's Alistair
2. Hawke is still me by extension. They are the people I created and played. I prefer to sacrifice my character before others. Usually their personality is also in line with this. Sort of.
3. The Wardens will need him.

I've had Stroud, and sometimes he lives. ;) But sometimes there are Hawkes I just can't part with, and since I don't feel all that connected to Stroud...

I'm kinda hoping whoever gets left behind gets possessed by Nightmare and becomes a boss a game or two later. Although I don't think it's going to happen since even ignoring how much work that would take from Bioware Nightmare's body is so large and powerful that taking a human body would probably make it less powerful.

I made a Warden Alastair Keep intending to use a Hawke I hadn't actually played yet. It was a Hawke I wouldn't have had any problem killing and they would have been single. Leaving no lovers behind. And then absent mindingly put in a different Hawke.

It was difficult to do but the love my Grey Warden had for Alistair is greater than the dysfunctional relationship Hawke had with Anders. So...yeah.

I think Killing Alastair is not something I can ever do.

Funny, it's the opposite for me. I have so many Warden Loghain (and I love Loghain) so I made a couple of Alistair's to kill off.

I always kill Hawke infact I make disposable Hawkes just for this purpose.

1. I never kill a Warden, especially not my favourite DA character Alistair

2. at end of game Cory gets rifted into Fade and considering he can possess Wardens I'm not leaving him a body to hijack

3. If I ever leave a Hawke I care about in the Fade I always thought that he/she would be rescued by Feynriel (half elf dreamer from DA2)

4. the only Warden I could leave in the Fade is Loghain, and he never survives DAO and he's never a Warden in my Thedas.

Haha, yes. I never have Loghain as a warden either. Because he's a slaver. And slavers stop breathing soon after I meet them;)

If I can recall the end game slides not choosing Alistair may not have "saved" him. :(

I'm still in my first playthrough and I used a savegame, where Loghain was the warden contact. It was a no-brainer for me to leave Loghain behind, he is not a character, I care much about, despite the VA doing a really great job and Loghain really becoming interesting in DAI.

But I would have no more problems to kill off Alistair, because he isn't one of my favorite companions (the only ones, I like less are Oghren and Merrill). I would have a harder time sacrificing Stroud, despite him being a minor character - I can get very attached to minor characters (I loved Sol in DA2 for example).

But since my rogue Hawke is one of my favorite characters, I probably would not sacrifce her for anyone (not even Varric or Zevran, my favorite companions).

But I do get, that this is a hard decision for Alistair- or Loghain-fans (and there seem to be a lot of them), so you have my sympathies here.

Killing Hawke is literally the easiest choice I've made; I killed Hawke for Loghian, Alistair, and Stroud. I really don't care about Hawke, do I? But eh, I do love my Canon one; I can't part with him...  Humorous bastard...

I always leave the Warden.... why would you kill someone healthy in favour of someone who is gonna die shortly after anyway?

Stroud,Alistair and Loghain are not even young wardens so sacrifice them over Hawke is a must for me..

They have at best another 10 years to live Hawke have much more...in my canon i have Stroud  because Loghain and Alistair are dead

Considering the Hero of Ferelden is searching for a way to "cure" Grey Wardens, this could potentially be untrue. Not sure what's going on if the HoF is dead, though.

A random Warden Commander does not have a reason to share it with Alistair and HoF has not been in contact with him, besides the little maggot speaks crap of the Warden if (s)he lives and did not romance him...

I had Alistair as the Warden contact, and I had romanced him in Origins. If asked, Alistair says that the HoF is looking for the cure to save all Wardens, not just the two of them. The HoF is on this quest regardless of romances or who is still alive. I was just saying that a more senior Warden having a shorter lifespan because of the taint isn't necessarily true because we don't know what will happen in the future. The possibility of a cure exists.

He probably only talks crap if the HoF treated him badly, so I guess that's the HoF fault not Alistairs. Because I've had him as a HoF romance and as a friend when HoF romances zevran, and he had kind words for them.

Wrong, you can have been nice at him, taken every moral choice and allowed him to have his vengeance at Loghain, yet if you decide you want to stop the Blight and live without killing him either, he will say that you are an immoral bastard at your back, do you call that a friend? I do not.

Just because cancer can be possibly cured you don't pick a person sick of it over a perfectly healthy one, so my point still stands.

I'm not exactly certain what you mean here. Are you saying that if you decline to kill Loghain in Origins Alistair is unhappy? Because that's always the same. He vehemently believes that Loghain deserves to die. No exceptions.

In DAI Alistair is still likely friendly towards the HoF unless otherwise made to be.

All I said was that it wasn't necessarily true that they will be "sick" within the near future. I didn't say you were wrong about your choice, just that they could potentially be cured.

And anyway, Alistair and Loghain would have more time left than Stroud. At this point Alistair and Loghain have only been Wardens for a little over 10 years -- most Wardens live on average of around 30 years after the Joining, sometimes even longer than that, as Alistair says back in Origins.

In my games  Loghain  was executed by my warden and is 10 years dead, Alistair is King so, Hawke is the one left behind since he is expendable.

For now is true because there is no anti-joining cure yet even after Trespasser and that's assuming the warden will find it but if i know Bioware they will not allow the HoF to found it that will be too much of disparity with the US ending.
