Be careful. If they announce the names but not the LI status of squadmates, you could end up with a rather embarassing name for your first PC.

All the puns are quite funny, but Ryder kind of doesn't sound good in my ears. Would prefer Rider really, but I guess English pronounciation for both is quite much same.

The pronunciation is exactly the same, in fact.

I usually don't choose my character's name until I choose my character's ethnicity, fashioning a loose ethnic backstory in my mind for him or her. I don't do that until I see just how limited the Character Creator is.

My male Shepards were always Sheploo and named John, because he was excellent in my opinion, and nothing better could come out of the CC. My FemSheps were very rarely white/European, and came in a decent variety, as allowed by the character creator. I hope we are able to create an even broader variety of believable individuals for MEA.

Ryder sounds extremely generic. There is even a flip-flop manufacturer with that name where I live. Whatever.



Probably my first 'hero' will be called Vegana Ryder, as a homage to the late, synthesis-peacemonger Vegana Shepard.

This reminds me of FO4's implementation of names. Even though it's far from perfect, I really like it. I ended up naming my character Sam, and I was glad to hear Codsworth be the first to use the name.

Since the last name is a ref to Sally Ride, I think it'd be cool to have the first name be from another famous bi/lesbian woman. Like after Virginia Woolf/Josephine Baker/Storme DeLarverie Or something weather related bc Tempest.
