It was huge inspiration according to Mac Walter twitter. There was a time when I said I played ME for the space bi/lesbians, I guess I got my wish. 

 

The default Ryder looks perfect, maybe this is going to be the first time I will not use the CC.

It very well could be, I know that her face has lengthened some, but I'm not sure about the nose.  IMO, Laura doesn't have a nose that big.

 

I think it's the lighting which is throwing the image off. If you look closely at Bailey's nose and ignore the light glare on the right of Ryder's, they look about the same.

The nose is bent differently. The tip and nostrils don't match. It's not the same nose. 

There are other differences too.

Probably the devs saving time by not showing true morning face. And really, if there were complaints before, you know there'd be hell to pay if she had true morning face.

For a male PC, I'm going with Yuri Ryder. He was the first man in orbit, so I thought it fit. I've always liked the name Yuri. Which is good; it's been more trouble than I'd like to admit trying to think of a name for a guy PC that doesn't sound like a euphemism.

Same with some North American soccer announcers. The current fashion word is "transition" and they use it a lot.  You hear this on the radio and "what the hell". The old "passe " phrase was "counter attack". At least, even on the radio, that meant something.

Most of my friends don't use anything on that list, or anything like them. Even girlfriends don't always use stuff like babe or sweety.

 

Actually it's pretty common for guys to refer to each other by their last name, at least where I live.

I do wonder why they went with Ryder instead of Ride. Ryder is ripe for all sorts of annoying double entendre, even when you don't wish to see it. If Sally Ride is the inspiration, what was wrong the surname Ride?
