I didn't catch Mac Walters on YouTube Gaming just now, but it seems he said something about there's a Ryder family, with quite a different character customization? Can that mean it could be like Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, or Divinity: Original Sin in which there are two protagonists? Or is the brother/sister (the one you don't pick) the antagonist?

NO. For customization purposes it wouldn't work. There are plenty of other reasons.

It's possible that it could be something similar as DA2's Bethany and Carver, but with difference that we are either Bethany or Carver. Also similar as with Assassin Creed Syndicates (I think that is the one- there is too many ACs so I might mix them up ^^; ) That would be pretty interesting. I think we would still have CC and our sister/brother would just change look depending on how our character looks in CC. Same as with DA2's Hawke and twins.

If two protagonists means two player characters then no thanks, changing PCs mid-game would ruin immersion for me.

 

I think our sibling will play a big role in the story though. They could become an antagonist, maybe they died during the Reaper war and serve as our motive to find a better home for humanity or perhaps they were killed in Andromeda and we seek to avenge their death. Or they could simply become a squadmate.

MP is optional, but when you do it, it feels seamless from SP experience

What if N7Guy always remains your brother and you choose to be the brother or sister Ryder?

I think having it where depending on which sex you choose either the male or female member of the family will end up being at odds with the pc's path would be neat. Thus they'll side with the opposing force or perhaps a scenario where they already were awoken in andromeda either years before our pc or perhaps due to a ship malfunction and they're stranded so it could be a side objective of ours to hunt down our relative only to discover something occured to them betwixt the time period of our pc's arrival and reunion

How is the plot going against that idea? The two Ryder siblings have two different roles. One is the Pathfinder, and one is X. The roles are switched based on the gender you pick. While a bit different, the VS is based on the same things, with a male and female character sharing the same role in ME2 and ME3 based on the choice made in ME. The Ryder sibling can be the VS of MEA, with a single role that is the same regardless of the gendere of the character.

Just doubtful is all. My brothers name is George. well what's your name? Ryder. No your first name. Commander. Tell you one thing, I don't want a sibling if I can't customize them too.
